Jay's Pokedex buzzed to life.

Exploud- the Noise Pokemon. Its howls can be heard over six miles away. It emits all sorts of noises from the ports on its body.
Gender: Male
Ability: Soundproof
Level: 40
There was a sound of branches breaking as the Pokemon in the bushes moved. Jay and Tally could see it's gaint red eyes glinting in the darkness. Budew ran towards his trainer and hid behind her leg. He was shaking from fear. A deafening silence filled the air.

Tally was rarely left speechless in her life. The Exploud being revealed was one of those moments. She slowly recalled Elly and Florent without a word not wanting to make any sudden movements. As confident as she was in her Pokémon, she didn’t think they could win if things came to a fight, and she didn’t want to put her Pokémon into danger. Without breaking eye contact with the Exploud, she whispered to Jay, “S-should we make a run for it?” She wasn’t sure if they could outrun the Pokémon if he decided to pursue them, and she only wanted to test that as a last resort.

She tried to think of a few more options. She remembered that she had the Glitter Powder in her bag, that could serve as a distraction if she used that with her flashlight. A distraction that could hopefully cover any escape attempts. She also had a few apples, which the Exploud could hopefully be a fan of.

Jay was so startled that she almost toppled over while she took a step back.

"Shit, this uhh might be a problem." Jay was not sure what to think about this, sure not all pokemon were violent but this one looked pretty upset. If she wasn't so on edge she might have been excited to see two shiny pokemon in one day. But she still needed to think fast. After Tally's remark she gave her a reassuring but stern look that she hoped translated to "I'll try to see what can be done but if it starts to look bad be ready to bolt" With that she took a few steps forward.

"Excuse me we don't want trouble, we just droped something here. If you will allow us we'll just pick it up and be out of here" Jay really hoped that she made at least some sense in that sentence.

Tally and Jay could hear the branches breaking as the Pokemon stepped out of the bushes and rose to its full height. It was enormous. The trainers could see its big mouth - its natural weapon -open. Saliva dripped down onto the grass as the Pokemon pulled in a gasp of air into its insides and then let out a loud scream that left both trainers' ears ringing.

Tally quickly shook her head, trying to regain her bearings after nearly having her ears blown out by the Exploud’s scream. She didn’t consider herself easy to scare, but the fact remained that the wild Pokémon seemed to be stronger than their’s, or at least at a much higher level. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t really see any positive outcome for them if he successfully attacked them. She wasn’t sure about how fast the Exploud was, and didn’t want to give him another reason to attack them. With that in mind, she decided to try assisting in diffusing the situation, going for the first idea that popped into her head. Desperately trying to hide her obvious apprehension, she quickly pulled out the last apple she had, holding it out in front of her.

“We’re s-sorry if we’ve wandered into your territory,” Tally’s voice cracked as she quickly tried to muster some bravado, “here’s an apple as token of apology. We just need to get the thing we dropped, and I promise we’ll be gone before you know it.” Knowing the Apple wasn’t much, she was prepared to run if it wasn’t enough to pacify the wild Pokémon.

Tally was almost regretting being so quick to recall her Pokémon, remembering that Florent knew Stun Spore, which could possibly slow the Exploud down enough to help them escape, if they had to run. Knowing it would be a risk, but wanting a suitable backup plan, she hid her open hand in her bag, ready to call him out if needed.

Kane arrived at the Mauville Pokemon Center without any trouble except for having to avoid massive groups of tourists walking around the roads. It was really easy to get lost in Mauville. He would have to keep that in mind in the future.

Upon crossing the threshold with a quiet "zoom" of the automatic doors Kane could see his companions - Sakiko and Alex. He made his way towards them.

[ I didn't wanna write to much so you two can decide what you're doing right now. ]
Sakiko was sitting on a bench, thinking about combinations for the upcoming contest. Jingle was next to her, entertaining himself by batting at his trainer's hair with his string. She looked up and noticed that Kane had returned. "Did you catch anything?" she asked.

Kane made his way through the thick crowds and finally to the Pokémon Center, where Sakiko and Alex were waiting. Mauville sure was a popular city; he'd have to make sure he wasn't disoriented by the waves of tourists coming through.

“Hey, guys,” Kane greeted the two as he entered the Pokémon Center. “What're you up to? Alex, take this Potion and Revive,” he said to the fellow Trainer, pulling the healing items he'd saved out of his pocket. “They're not pity prizes,” he assured him. “You would've gotten them anyway. Sakiko and I have some of our own. Right, Sakiko?” Kane added that last part hesitantly. To be honest, he didn't remember Sakiko grabbing a Potion off the counter at the Food Court.

“And yeah, I did catch something. A Scyther,” Kane replied to Sakiko, taking out the Nest Ball as proof. The button pulsed with red light for a moment, indicating that there was a Pokémon inside.

The Wild Exploud focused its gaze on Tally who was now giving it an apple. It looked like it was thinking about its options.

The two trainers stood in one place oing very much the same thing as the Pokemon, unmoving and evaluating the situation. Then the Exploud made its move.

It took a few steps, closing the distance between itself and the trainers, putting its hand up to the apple Tally was holding up. It took it away and looked it over, examining it.

After a moment the small apple was consumed between its huge jaws in one swift bite. The Pokemon looked a bit calmer now as it moved it's big hand to Tally's shoulder, almost knocking her over with its strength even though the gesture didnt seem like it was supposed to do the trainer any harm. On the contrary - the Pikemon looked almost friendly, yet still slightly reluctant.

Suddenly there was a rustle in the bushes and before any of them could register what happened, the Exploud was lying on it side, roaring in rage. There was a gash on its side.

Another rustle in the bushes revealed a human silhouette coming towards the girls - a man in dirty clothes designed to blend in with the forest. There was a wolf Pokemon by its leg.

"Thanks for distracting it," the man said, smiling. "I've been hunting this one for a month."

Tally tensed up as the Exploud got closer, only for her fear to dissolve away as he took the apple. She giggled as the Pokémon place his hand on her shoulder, not even caring that she was nearly knocked over. Seeing it as a friendly gesture, not even noticing his reluctance, she considered playfully returning the favor when the Exploud was suddenly attacked.

Tally prided herself on being slow to anger. But seeing the Exploud get taken down in such a cheap manner, seeing him roaring in pain and rage, and the knowledge that she was indirectly responsible managed to push her to that point. She took a moment to wonder if the Pokémon’s initial aggression was due to the Trainer provoking him in his pursuit.

Tally really wanted to help the Exploud out. But she didn’t think that the Trainer would just sit by and let them do anything. They would likely have to resolve things with him first. She wasn’t really in the mood to talk to this Trainer, but forced herself to regardless. “Sorry, but what do you mean by hunting?” She couldn’t hide the sharp tone in her voice, and she felt that it was a stupid question, one that she probably wasn’t going to like the answer to, but she really was hoping that this would just be another misunderstanding, as improbable as it seemed at that moment. “And who are you? If you don’t mind me asking.” She felt around her bag looking for a Potion, and her Pokédex as she talked.

Jay was happy that Tally got the Exploud to calm down but that quickly turned into horror when it got attacked by some trainer. The shock turned into anger and then a seething fury. Jay couldn't believe that someone would use such underhanded tactics especially on a shiny pokemon. There was not a lot of so-called shiny pokemon left and acting like that could potentially lower their numbers even more. It didn't matter to her if this guy was just a shit person or a poacher, he should be stoped.

She was about to give the guy a piece of her mind but got stopped by Tally who started talking to him. Jay made her way to stand closer to Tally in a way that covers the way to the Exploud so she can intervene if things go south. The whole time she was doing this Jay was doing her best to not let it show how close she is to punch the guy in that smug-looking face.

"That's an overkill don't you think?" Just because she didn't punch him didn't mean Jay won't show how much she disagrees with his actions and if push comes to shove she won't hesitate to punch his teeth out. Discreetly she also called Kane on her phone that she pulled out of her pocket and now was holding behind her back. They needed all the help they could get. They could just run but she had to save Exploud so that option was out.

"Yeah. They were given out to everyone who participated in a battle," Sakiko said. "And you caught Scyther? Not bad."

Sakiko wished she'd gone to catch some Pokémon with the others. Actually, she wasn't exactly sure why she hadn't. Maybe she'd try to catch something on the way to Verdanturf Town if the others didn't mind stopping.

"Nah, that's just my style. " The man said as he approached the wounded Pokemon. "Its been a wild ride with this one. Now... Sing."

He came closer to the giant Pokemon lying on the ground as a peaceful sound of musc filled the air around the trainers.

"You guys really are a godsend," he said quietly as the shiny Pokemon drifted to sleep, its eyes closing slowly. The poacher approached his prey slowly when suddenly...

Tally saw it first. The Exploud's eyes shot open. It rose to its feet and head butted the trainer who was thrown backwards into a tree and slumped over.

His wolf-like Pokemon growled. Jay instantly knew what the shiny hunter did wrong. The ability Soundproof allowed Exploud immunity to sound based attacks. It was fooling the trainer to be able to gain advantage. Now it was ready to fight.

[ Sorry for the weird spaces before. I was on mobile. ]

As expected, Tally wasn’t impressed by the poacher’s ‘style’. “...Glad to help.” She was feeling drowsy after the Pokémon used Sing, but hoped the sarcasm still came through.

Despite how heavy her eyes were feeling, Tally was about to scan the poacher’s Pokémon with her Pokédex. She stopped when she noticed the Exploud seemingly wake up. Before she could call out any warnings, the poacher was slammed into a tree. She wasn’t sure how the Exploud woke up so quickly, but that was the least of their problems at the moment.

Tally felt that she would have to quickly step in and try diffusing the situation. She didn’t consider herself the type of person to sit back and let the poacher possibly get killed, no matter how much he brought it upon himself. She took a moment to properly scan the poacher’s Pokémon, in case they would have to fight it. She didn’t consider the poacher much of a threat after his encounter with the tree, she didn’t think he would be getting up for a while.

Tally didn’t want to fight the Exploud, she didn’t want to hurt or agitate him even more, not that she would stand a chance anyway. She also had to consider the possibility that the Exploud wouldn’t be as trusting of her after she accidentally distracted him. But she couldn’t see any other way to resolve the situation except try and calm the Exploud down again, no matter how dangerous that would be. She wasn’t sure whether she was looking for validation or to be talked out of her idea when she reluctantly turned to Jay, asking, “Do... you think I can calm him down again?” She hadn’t noticed that Jay had taken her phone out.

Jay wasn't at all shocked that the Exploud was immune to the effect of sing. The only thing that surprised her was that the so-called shiny hunter that chased after it had no idea. Then again he didn't seem to be the smartest tool in the shed. She quickly looked over to see if the trainer is injured or just knocked out or stunned. As much as Jay disliked him she didn't want a dead person on her conscience or even worse Tally to blame herself for it. After that she looked at the Exploud, he looked furious. Jay heard Tallys question but quickly shut it down it was too dangerous for Tally or anyone really to go closer to him. But she had to think of another idea and fast before the knocked out trainer or his pokemon that she identified to come from the evolution line of Rockruff had a chance to retaliate. As dangerous as it was someone had to get the Exploud attention and lead him away from here and since she was more than sure that Tally couldn't put up a fight with her pokemon or herself Jay had no other option than to do it herself. In her years in the group that helps with the pollution on her island, Jay had a lot of run-ups with people and sometimes pokemon if they weren't to keen on being saved from their habitat that was no longer sustaining them so she hoped that experience will be enough to help in this case as well.

"Can you give me that potion you got in the shop Tally." Jay gave Tally a look that she hoped showed her determination and bravery than her more than real fear of losing a limb.
The way she said it also made it clear that it was a statement and not a question. There was no room for errors here. Jay made Izzy go towards Tally to not get injured if things go south she than tossed her phone at Tally that was still connected to Kane and hoped that the situation can still be defused without any more fighting. She also put the egg container next to Tally so it stays safe away from the scuffle.

Tally wasn’t surprised that her suggestion was shot down. It was extremely dangerous after all, and she probably didn’t come across as being too trustworthy at the moment. She quickly had an idea of what Jay was planning on doing when she was asked for her Potion. As much as she didn’t want to see Jay in danger, and as much as she wanted to help out, Tally had to accept that they were at a point where she couldn’t do much more than place her trust in Jay. “I... Okay...” She reluctantly handed Jay the Potion, quietly adding, “Please be careful.”

Tally was amazed that Jay was staying so calm. Her confidence managed to help Tally feel slightly more at ease. Thinking about it, she figured that it made sense, remembering Jay mention the group she worked with while they were at the Registration Office, and it wasn’t unlikely that they would have helped resolve situations like this before.

Tally caught the phone and stepped in front of Izzy in order to protect him if anything happened. She considered going for one of her own Pokémon, in case the poacher’s Pokémon decided to attack, but still decided to hold off on that, hoping that the Pokémon would try not to escalate things, or at the very least try and tend to its injured Trainer. She looked back at the phone Jay had tossed her, seeing that she had called somebody. Though Tally hadn’t seen her take her phone out or make the call, and she didn’t know who Jay called, she figured that she could at least explain what was happening. She put the phone to her ear, calling out, “Hello?”

After taking the potion from Tally and making sure that she's far enough to be out of the imminent danger. Jay tied her coat around her ears to muffled the sound that will be probably unbearable when she gets closer to the Exploud. Gripping the potion in her hand and taking a rope out of her bag she made her way quickly behind him and jumped on the top of his tails while making the rope go over his upper jaw so she could have something to hold on to. and reached with her other hand that held the potion to the Explouds hurting side.
