Holiday 2021 event begins in Pokémon GO on December 16th

Niantic has announced details for the Holidays 2021 event in Pokémon GO. Bergmite, Avalugg, and Shiny Galarian Darumaka will make their Pokémon GO debuts. Pokémon GO Winter Holiday will run from December 16th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. local time to December 31th, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Available during the entire Event
The next part of the Season of Heritage Special Research story is now available.

The following event bonuses are now active:

• Open up to 45 Gifts per day, and hold up to 40 Gifts in the Item Bag
• Mega Abomasnow CP boost
• Team GO Rocket Grunts will have more Water- and Ice-type Pokémon.
• Get holiday-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.

Some festive bundles will also be available for purchase in the shop throughout the event:

• Special Box (480 PokéCoins): 50 Poké Balls, two Premium Battle Passes, two Super Incubators, three Star Pieces
• Ultra Box (1,480 PokéCoins): 25 Ultra Balls, 18 Raid Passes, five Super Incubators, five Incense
• Adventure Box (1,480 PokéCoins): 18 Super Incubators, two Incubators, two Incense, four Star Pieces

During part 2 of the event, players will receive an Egg Incubator for spinning their first PokéStop each day. Two Timed Research lines focused on friendship and catching Pokémon will also be available. Each of these research lines will lead to an encounter with Galarian Mr. Mime and other rewards.

A Winter Wonderland Mini-Event
A special mini-event will take place from December 25th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to December 26th, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

A Collection Challenge focused on trading with your friends will be available from December 25th, 2021, to December 31st, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Complete the challenge to encounter Galarian Mr. Mime. Trading with Trainers will be allowed up to 40 km away. The following Pokémon must be traded to complete this challenge:

• Swinub
• Snorunt
• Spheal (Doesn't need to be costumed)
• Snover
• Vanillite
• Cubchoo (Doesn't need to be costumed)

Additional Field Research tasks will also be available for the duration of the mini-event that reward Holiday Delibird.
