How can Diglett and Dugtrio move?!!

I know there is a thread about this (What does the body of a Diglitt and a Dugtrio look like?) but I really want to go deeper inside of it, into details.
Now, let's just ignore what's under Diglett and Dugtrio, and find out how they move on lands. Examples: modern cities
Imagine a trainer just let a Diglett out from the Pokeballs, how would it move on the tiled street without breaking the tiles? There are many more mysterious things about this Pokemon, too, so let's also discuss a bit about them.
I really want to read you guys opinion, so welcome to let all out in here :enzap:
