I am looking to create a database that can query pokemon information. Crediting Bulbapedia and going non-profit is an easy way to go, but I have a few questions.
  • I know that the games are copyrighted, but what does the law say about the information about them?
  • Are hacking tools needed to obtain all the information in the games? Things like the catch rate equation seem impossible to reverse engineer.
  • Examples are not needed, just a yes or no, but are there copyright traps in Bulbapedia?
  • If I used information from Bulbapedia, does running ads on my site violate the non-profit status?
