I see people doing solo runs on pokemon, and they get to choose any pokemon from the game as their starter, does anyone know how they are doing that?

I believe those types of solo run videos are usually done via cheating devices — more specifically, a cheat that allows you to change the choice of starters manually to whatever Pokémon you want.

As far as I'm aware, there is no legitimate ingame way (through means of a glitch or otherwise) to start with any Pokémon other than what you're given.
