Don't do that, don't give me hope...Using an important event from a past series as background noise for a filler sounds like something early Journeys would do.
No, this is sinking lower than Journeys. Journeys would at least make the tag tournament a part of the episode. This is basically teasing the viewers with something fun just to use it as a set piece for an advice column.
It’s not even a factor of them taking part in the tournament especially since it’s highly unlikely that they will. For me, it’s that they’re basically going out of their way to use a genuinely fun activity that this series is severely lacking in and basically just using it as window dressing to set up something that is much less interesting. At a point it ends up feeling like the writers are just taunting the fans of battles.
I don't know...Horizons hasn't had any true fillers. Even episodes where something major doesn't happen still give some small plot developments or character focus.
Maybe Captain Pikachu and Friede thinking they are in danger will jump in and save them lol
I hope so too. I know popularity determines if a mon evolves or not, but they can let this one slide.
