Ideas For New Locations

Just thought of starting a thread for sharing ideas for possible future locations in Pokemon. They can be anything like cities, towns, routes, caves etc. I'd like to hear everyone's ideas for designs, names and any other interesting gimmicks or lore.

To get started here's one of mine. It's a work in progress.

Noshroud City (Nosferatu+Shroud): A dark city almost perpetually shrouded in darkness due to the clouds that block out the sun. The buildings and atmosphere are like those from 19th century London which include one of the oldest libraries in the world with many books detailing legendary pokemon. Might not be the best idea to be out on the streets at night but how can you tell? Also features a dark type gym.

Noshroud City sounds really awesome, with a unique atmosphere that hasn't really been done before. Also library and Dark Gym yes pls :D

My idea isn't really well thought out (or even possible?) but y'know. It's a relatively large city that's in the clouds, with a lot of parts (outside of the central area) that are only accessible during certain times of day; some of them are less likely to appear than others. The town itself is post game, and only accessible by Fly (or Soar instead, in the unlikely instance it returns). At the northern most cloud, there is a large statue of Mega Altaria, due to the fact it has deep seated lore with the city for saving it during a time of peril. The town features an optional post game quest of finding Mega Altaria to save the town again.

The colour of the cloud, and the buildings, change depending on the time of day, also. Peach at sunrise, light blue/white during the morning, orange during sunset and indigo at night. When it's raining (from the cloud to whatever's below), the cloud will darken in colour any time of the day. If it's storming, the cloud will turn to dark grey and thunder will cause tremors throughout the city. I like to think, since it changes colours, people will stay out to watch it, and as a result the city has a bustling night life with restaurants, cafes and boutiques open late into the night, and festivals during the day. Sometimes, items below the cloud that have been dropped by its residents can be found.

Still haven't thought of a name, can anyone help?

A while ago I had the simple idea of a water temple so to say. It's a mysterious place that is said to connect with all of the world's bodies of water. Because of this one could possibly encounter any Water Pokemon in existence inside the ancient structure..

A super modern skyscraper in a big city like Moscow, Honk Kong, Toronto, or Sydney.
With more than 20 floors, and each floor has different things to do: battle trainers, buy rare items, people who give you items, side games, etc... and is possible view the city by looking through the glass windows, the last floor has a 360 view of the entire city oh yeah

Great ideas guys keep em coming.

An addition to my Noshroud City idea would be that before the E4 you will hear rumors about a terrifyingly strong trainer who searches the streets at night (8:00 pm) for trainers to battle. After you beat the E4 he spawns at night and moves around the city. You battle him by running into him and he is bonus boss levels of strong. I'm pretty sure I don't need to explain who this person is a reference to.

Another city idea I have is a crazy and grand one. Longame City (Long + Game): A huge bright city built around games. All around the city you can play mini games based on typical arcade style games and mini games of past games like the HGSS' pokeathalon and the Stadium minigames. You play the games with your pokedollars and depending on how well you do you get tokens which can be traded for prizes like the Battle Frontier. Prizes include Max Revives, Elixers, PP Max, Apricorn Pokeballs, Berries, Destiny Knot, Leftovers and more. I based this one off the Golden Saucer from Final Fantasy 7 and my desire for a Game Corner to be back in the game without having those overly sensitive localization teams going nuts. This is an arcade not a casino so it should be fine.

I'd like to think that the Pokémon main regions are more or less true to their real-life counterparts. For example two cities in Kanto that I thought of is:

Sanae/Jadegreen City
a bedroom community city between Hanada/Cerulean and Yamabuki/Saffron. Both name comes from the green-ish colour, which one gets in mixing blue (Cerulean) and yellow (Saffron). The city is based on Omiya City, north of Tokyo.

Awafuji/Periwinkle City a city of cutting-edge science and technology that makes the Pokémon Centre an antiquated 19th Century hospital in comparison, and located not too far away from Bill's house. It can be the possible location for the Poke-transporter. It is based on Tsukuba Science City in Ibaraki Pref. It is located north of Shion/Lavender Town and northeast of Hanada/Cerulean. Awafuji and Periwinkle are two variations of the blue-purple mixed colour.

Underground city, with a gym in a cave.
I would like to visit a pyramid
And instead live in a generic town house, let it be an apartament

And the names of cities, does anyone have any idea? Already been named after plants, colors, flavors, clouds.
What could be next?

  • · Looker and international police headquarters – I’m very curious to know which region it’s located
  • An igloo themed town in a snowy region

  • · A haunted pirate ship – Especially if it’s Scandinavia alluding the Vikings, or maybe another "tropical" region
  • Gym/trials or it’s equivalent based on castles - If they ever make a region based on UK.

  • A traditional abandoned haunted town filled with ghost pokemon in the houses and streets

I'd really like to see a cave that is similiar in appearance to Scorched Slab in Hoenn, meaning you have to surf and not walk to get inside. Most caves don't require that, even if they are located on islands, be it Seafoam Islands, Whirl Islands, Island Cave, the lake guardians' caverns, or Seaside Cave.
The first floor is similiar to the one in the aforementioned cave. You have to take the stairs to access the B1F. There, you have to surf down a waterfall, disembark and exit the cave. You will find yourself in a field of flowers. Then, you will see an entrance to a forested area with a lake, which contains high-leveled Pokemon.

An explorable coal reef would be cool. Maybe even a barrier reef. Might be a concept if they bring diving back.

Being a cyberpunk fan, I'd actually like to see a dark, grimy city with lots of neon and electronic billboards and vendors selling...questionable goods.

It'd be based off of China's Shenzhen, with a bit of Hong Kong and Batman Beyond's Gotham City.

I picture there to be lots of "artificial" pokémon like Magnemite, Porygon and similar types.

On that note, I'd like to see more abandoned laboratory type areas.
