Since I skipped most posts and until now I read the whole thread, I forgot that there are also woodpeckers where I live. They love dragonfruit, believe it or not.

Since I skipped most posts and until now I read the whole thread, I forgot that there are also woodpeckers where I live. They love dragonfruit, believe it or not.

Ugh, dragonfruit is so gross. The manager at a bar I used to work got some in once as decoration for a new cocktail we were doing, and I tried a bit; if I wasn't at work I would have spat it out.

Yeah, dragonfruit is not exactly the best fruit ever, and it can grow tall so it's difficult to harvest. But the birds like it and I like cacti, so I guess that's a plus. After all, the only time we tried to harvest them they had a big hole in the middle because the woodpeckers got to it first.
