Remember that trend in the early 2010s where they took a classic story and added "& Zombies" or "With Vampires" or some such to the end? This is basically that, but with Pokémon. What would the characters' teams look like? How would it affect the story, if at all?

I've been thinking a lot about this with Gilmore Girls lately; here's what I have so far.
  • Lorelai's main Pokémon of choice would be Wigglytuff, who would help her with different tasks around the inn.
  • Rory would have an Eevee, which she would evolve into Leafeon in the second half of the series. Lorelai would be mad at her for this at first because she wanted it to become a Sylveon, but she eventually learns to respect Rory's choice. Additional mons would include Dedenne and either Goldeen, Finneon or Wishiwashi (equivalent to a goldfish because I think she had one before the events of the series).
  • Paris is the owner of a Glaceon due to her icy personality. She would also have a Galarian Rapidash and Scizor.
  • Richard would have a Stoutland Sawsbuck as his main Pokémon and he and Emily would otherwise train a lot of Grass types; another reason for Lorelai to bristle at Rory's Eeveelution choice
    • Richard: Sawsbuck, Eldegoss, Ludicolo, Sirfetch'd
    • Emily: Venusaur, Vileplume, Tangrowth, Kantonian Farfetch'd
More ideas incoming but want to hear what y'all have to say first :)

Animorphs. Turns out that evolution resets the morphing clock like in The Departure with Cassie and the butterfly, which depending on how you look at it is good or bad news for Tobias. Unfortunately, there's still the risk of being nothlited as a fully-evolved Pokémon. Also, certain Psychic-types can rat out Controllers.
