I'm curious. Why do so many people dislike Best Wishes?

i can see that following dp would highlight the flaws in bw but as you said it was still handled anyway rather than people just comparing to dp to much just viewing bw in it's self rather than comparing it clearly has a lot of issues

Like Ash still doesn't know he should weaken a Pokémon before catching it? Come on!

I know it was also done at the beginning of Hoenn, but it was done for laughs, after Ash told May she should weaken a Pokémon before catching it.

Most children back then (and today) didn't watch the OS, but many of them have parents or older siblings who can tell them Pokémon has been there since a long time ago.

There's no need to turn Ash/Satoshi into a total idiot to attract new fans.
