"You really are a boring person." She remarked with a sigh, exerting her soulcrushing pressure on Xavier. "Maybe I should just reap your soul now."

"Boring is a new one." Xavier said with a grin. "Been called many things but not that." He looked around, it seemed as if he had slightly overplayed his hand. A typical mistake or his really, one that he'd taken shots in the past because of. "And as for reaping my soul, go ahead and try it. You'll die here along with me if you do it." Go big or go home; that was how the nephalem had always done it.

"You underestimate me....just like everyone else.." She muttered, her focus seeming to be on something entirely different altogether. "I'm just a child.. That's what everyone thinks, isn't it?" The reaper growled, her completely teal-hued orbs now beginning to turn crimson.

Don had been watching Xavier fight against the Reaper for a while, awaiting his chance. He finally leapt forward, polearm in hand before his body became surrounded with red energy. He thrust the spear out, thrusting multiple times against the Reaper.

When everything was expunged, Wren's gaze remained on Kei. Leaning down to rub the girl's face, she stood before her body disappeared from the mindspace.

Her body came back to reality, opening her eyes to see the fight still raging. She held her head, standing up shakily. "Alright," she breathed out. "It's done."

Xavier glanced over at Wren. "Next time you play punching bag and I get to frolic in dreamspace." He quipped, blood trickling from his mouth. Getting blown up had done a number on him.

Wren let out a brief chuckle. "Not on your life," she winced, the pain from Lilith's attack still very much in effect. "Good to see you aren't dead."

Once Wren had left her mindspace, everything began to grow blurry. The reaper made a sound, almost as if she were being strangled, a teal aura surrounding the demigod. It burst into a plume of smoke, revealing the teenager now unconscious on the ground. Just as in the girl's mental space, black blood trickled out from underneath the eyepatch. Kei lay unmoving on her side, a faint rune branded onto the base of her collarbone - it gave off a faint, venomous green radiance of light; akin to the runic markings on the dracolich that was her proclaimed guardian. Her body went limp as her mind swam in darkness.

Xavier glanced at Kei and sighed. "Girl can really dish it out." He mused as he surveyed the scene. "We need to finish up here and get out fast. This is turning into one big mess."

Meanwhile, it was a rather awkward silence between Alexis and Kari as Rose remained in an unconscious state. Alexis felt physically drained from not being able to sleep. Her eyes were pretty much bloodshot as dark circles were under her eyes. Kari was also rather exhausted, but more so hers wasn't due to tethering but rather no sleep. She would at least try and make some sort of conversation.

"So, do you like Emmanuel?" Kari asked suddenly, causing Alexis to blush and become more alert.

"W-What are you talking about?!" she exclaimed in shock, "He's teaching me how to be a better healer and he's my friend."

"That doesn't answer the question. Do you like him or not? I saw how you looked at him the night he came over. Not sure what he whispered in your ear but you seemed kind of flustered."

"It wasn't that big of a deal," Alexis muttered, "Why does it matter so much anyways?"

"I think it's cute. Besides, you should tell him how you feel."

"Why would I do that? He'd never like anyone like me anyways. It would just make everything worse."

"Do you really know that? What if he likes you too? I mean the worst case scenario is that he turns you down."

"I can't tell him how I feel. I'm too scared to lose him as a friend if things didn't work out."

"In my defense you just kept charging in," Don replied towards Xavier. He then walked between Wren and Xavier, carrying them both by their arms. "I'm glad to see you're okay though," he smiled towards Wren. "Both of you."

Xavier smiled at Don's summary. "I'm apparently a glutton for punishment. But in my defense, Wren said to give her time. Gave her time." He said quietly. "I don't think we are done here yet. At least with the Axis. As for the fight, she and I can't give you much more."

Just as Don picked them up, a light began to shine behind them. The shards disappeared, showing the Axis sitting in an apparently unaltered state. However, its surroundings had noticeably changed from a golden wispy color to blue.

"Very good work, children," their surroundings broke away, revealing the undamaged Winter Castle once more. Standing in front of them was a large male, dressed from head to toe in a black and red suit. He bore both the physique of a profession athlete, yet maintained the features of a noble king. His eyes were white and he wore a smile on his face. "I'm impressed with your power."

Wren was breathing a bit hard. "Are you...?"

"Yes. I am the Winter King. And you all are hurt," he said. Each of them were surrounded in a swirl of white and blue energy that invigorated them, ridding them of all injury sustained during the bout.

"Oh. Wow," Wren said, finding herself still a bit dizzy.

"Hmhm," he let out a warm chuckle. "Careful. You're still carrying Infernal energy inside of your leg."

"Oh wow, that really feels better," Ken said in relief, his shirt had been torn almost completely and his jacket was also torn in some places due to his fight against the beast.

Don put more of his weight on Wren's sight to keep her from falling off as he let go of Xavier. "Thanks San-Imean sir," he said, bowing his head respectfully and in embarassment.

It was a weird feeling to have his wounds leave him instantly. He could almost feel the cuts sealing and the tissues knitting back together. And then the moment was gone. "Infernal energy. Well that answers the question of what you are." Xavier said quietly, more to himself than anything else. "Can I assume that our job here is done?"

"Yes," the King said, looking down at Kei's unconscious form. Her body was enveloped in energy, and she disappeared from view. "Your friend has been taken back to Concordia. And wish to go as well, correct?"

Wren nodded. "Yeah. I need sleep," she said.

He nodded once more. "Understood. My Knight has not returned from his battle."

"Knight?" Wren asked. Then her eyes widened. "That boy. Where is he?"

"Still engaging the archdemon, Lilith," the King ran a hand through his beard. "He has not died yet. However, as he is preoccupied, I will open the gate for you."

Wren nodded. "Thank you, Lord... um..."

"Kringle," the King said with a smile, lifting his hand, a portal opening that would lead back to the inn. "And know that none of you are on the naughty list this year."

"Oh, good," Wren said with a small, if a bit nervous, chuckle.

Xavier blinked twice. "Not going to complain, but I'm surprised I didn't get on there." He mused. "Erm I mean of course Im on the nice list, why wouldn't I be." Xavier quickly changed his tune as he realized he didn't want Kringle reconsidering. "And yes, I think we should get going." He smiled at his friends. They were lucky to be mostly unharmed.

"Thank you sir!" Ken called out towards Kringle, bowing multiple times as he walked towards the gate. "Can I please get a lapto-"

'Don't get greedy now," Lorenzo pointed out with a chuckle as he pushed Ken through the gate.

Don took a moment to walk through, looking at the direction Lilith had headed off in. What did she mean when she speak to him and why did he feel so weird when he saw her?

Relalizing he was still holding up Wren and had just stood there he snapped back. "Oh, sorry."

"No problem," Wren said to Don, lowering her head.

When the group made it back to the inn, Wren was quick to strip from her clothing, climbing into bed. It was time to sleep off all of the excitement.

Concordia was in Kei's room, sigils warding the room itself while she worked to piece together the girl's mind. It was a simple job, albeit long.

Her tasks were split up, however. Downstairs, Bob was busy... rearranging the Distortion Room. That is, he was destroying it. Somehow, his shadows sweeping over the room, ripping apart everything managed to make only a minimum of noise.

Xavier meanwhile went upstairs long enough to take a shower, have a cold drink and then he went back to his vigil at Rose's bedside, resuming his position as her tether to help the healing process.
