Xavier blushed. "Sorry about that everyone, I didn't realize I was yelling that loud. I blame the headphones." He muttered. "And remember when my mother came and that program told me that she was at the door. And I didn't get a chance to answer the question. Well this AI is the answer to the question."
"So that's what that was," Wren had been hearing lots of things while walking throughout the house. She had just assumed Xavier was chatting with someone over his computer. "I hope that thing isn't hackable. Last thing we need are spies entering the house."
Xavier shook his head. "I don't think so. She doesn't have access to the outside world at all. So if someone were to hack her, they were already into the system. I will take all necessary precautions to ensure security though." He promised.
Not all that surprisingly, Raku had gone back to her old house. If she had noticed Ken, she didn't show it, because she simply descended into the basement's laboratory. Regarding the headstone in the middle of the room with a blank stare, she left through another door, walking into one of the testing rooms.
Ken followed after Raku once more, staring at the house she walked into with curiosity before following her inside. "What's this place," he muttered to himself, accidentally tripping and falling to the floor.
Raku had whirled on him faster than the human eye could track, her miniature knife having grown into a five-foot jagged blade, poised at his throat. "T-the fuck are you doing here?!" She demanded, frown having contorted into a fang-like snarl.
"I wanted to see where you were going all alone so I followed you," Ken replied honestly, not really paying attention to the knife that was at his throat as he looked up at her. "What is this place?"
"Oh, right," Alexis spoke up, "Wren was going to train me today, so I can't go shopping. Should we get started?" she looked to the celestial with a nervous smile. This was the first "training" session since she had been in the house, not including Emmanuel teaching her about healing.
Raku turned away from him. "That's none of your business, and you know it.. But, if you're so damn curious, this is my home. It burned down ten years ago, so I've been living in the basement until now.. It was the only thing half-decent worth living in."
"Then we'll start with the basics of flying. And we'll get to use that new training area Concordia apparently opened."
No one had been able to see it yet, but Wren could only imagine how grand it was. Waving to the group, she walked toward the door that once led into the distortion room, opening it to find a small hallway. The pathway seemed to elongate before the end of the hallway flashed.
When the two got to the end, they would be greeted with an incredibly large and rocky terrain, almost mountainous terrain. The sky above, while not real, was so well-done that one would mistaken it to be. They stood on a cliffside that extended for a dozen miles in one direction. Nearer to them was a large waterfall that led down into a small lake that sat at the base; it would lead into a densely forested area below that extended even farther than the cliff itself, each of the trees bearing different sizes and shapes.
Wren was silent for a moment, taking in the sight of the new training grounds. "Jesus," was all she could muster.
"Oh no, he had nothing to do with this, I'm afraid," Concordia's voice came. The woman came through the door, overlooking it. "This is an old training ground I used as a child. You're free to play around in it, if you like."
Quietly, Alexis followed Wren until the two arrived to the new training room. When she saw the terrain, her face turned ghastly pale as she looked at Wren.
"Holy fudge...." she spoke as her eyes widened. Hearing Concordia's explanation didn't ease her anxieties much. It was safe to say that she was terrified.
"I would...prefer it, if.. if you didn't mention him." Raku told him with great difficulty, her sharp teeth clenched. "All I remember, is that.. He never got to finish his research. Someone stopped him before he could do so.. I want to find them, and kill them. Simple enough, right?"
"Why?" Ken asked, raising an eyebrow as he walked after Raku, looking around the room. "I mean, if you do find them and kill them...what happens after?"
"I continue his research. Are you an idiot or something?" Raku scowled at him, her blade shrinking back to its usual size as she stuffed her hands into the pockets of her letterman jacket. "I had been planning on asking Concordia for any information, but.. As you can see, she's been busy."
