Wren looked at the girl's wings. The energy flowing into them wasn't powerful in nearly any sense; a sign of the fact that she never used them. "Alright. Now, I want you to understand a concept before trying to fly; those wings are independent of gravity. That means that when you start flying, your speed will be entirely based on your own ability to manifest them..." She turned, pointing to a nearby rock. "Hover over to that rock and back. I'll time you."

"Oh geez..." Alexis gulped nervously, "This is gonna be embarrassing...Are they even strong enough to hold me up?" there she was questioning herself. "Oh who am I kidding? Let's see what I can do..." in her mind, she tried to focus on her wings and take flight. It was a rather slow and rocky (no pun intended) start, but she had somehow managed to fly to the rock and make it back.

Wren looked down at her stopwatch, raising an eyebrow. "That took you a minute and eight seconds..." She looked at Alexis. "Okay. That's, uh. Not good. At all. But, it's your first time. So, now that I know what I'm working with..." She almost grinned. "Time for some drills. I want you to fly from the boulder down the way and back."

She leaned in. "Fifty times."

Don looked at Xavier for a moment. "Actually, I think is it okay if we go buy th epresents a little later?" he asked curiously. "Wren's training Alexis right now on how to fly and...well I kind of wanna get some training in myself."

Xavier nodded. "Yeah we can go a little later. Not too late though." He reminded him with a grin. "Dinner tonight."

"Don't worry about it. Actually do worry a little." Xavier was amused by this. "We both know that I'm the one who's really hung up on punctuality." He mused, knowing that Don would know exactly what he was talking about. "We can put off shopping for an hour or two though so go train."

"I'm still dreading it..." Rose sighed.

"Oh crap..." Alexis gulped as her eyes widened, but she still did as she was told. It was pretty grueling and intense for someone who hadn't been allowed to do much of anything.

Xavier sighed. "I know you are. But you can't show my mother that you're afraid of her. Give her an inch and she'll take a mile." He explained. "You have to show that you're not going anywhere. Then she softens up."

Don had left the kitchen and had entered the training space along with Wren and Alexis. "Hey," he called out towards Wren as he walked closer. "I was actually wondering if it's okay for me to train my flying with you two for a bit as well...since you know, I'm a Dodo."

Wren watched as Alexis continued flying back and forth, timing her on her runs. She was slow - obviously from lack of experience. The whole thing seemed to take about thirty-five minutes.

Once Alexis finished, it was time to check her fatigue. "How do you feel?"

When Don entered the area, Wren turned to him. "Hm? Sure, hold on."

"I feel really exhausted," Alexis admitted honestly.

"Does she still think we aren't together?" Rose asked.

"Okay," Don nodded his head before taking off his shirt so as to not make holes on it when he unleashed his wings, though he had to admit he was a bit embarassed about it. He took the moment to focus, red markings appearing around his body before a pair of red wings made out of energy appears from his back.

Wren nodded. "Good. That means you get to take a break," she said. "Ten minutes then you're back in."

Then, she turned to Don. Looking him up and down quickly, she nodded before looking toward his wings. The energy was definitely different than hers, but somehow they were similar. She could tell that the same reactionary properties existed for them. That would make things easier. "Okay. I'll tell you what I told Alexis; the first thing you need to know is that your wings are independent of gravity. Thus, all of your speed, control, and duration will be dictated by the energy you can release into them continuously."

She looked at the boulder Alexis had flown to and pointed to it. "Hover there and and back. I'll time you."

"So it all depends on the energy I distribute to them," Don repeated silently before nodding his head at Wren and taking a deep breath, he looked towards the rock, feeling himself becoming more nervous before he stretched his wings out. He jumped, flapping his wings as he tried to concentrate on sending energy to them. He was able to start hover a bit thanks to the wings but as soon as he began to try and flap them properly he began shaking, only to finally falling and hitting the ground with a thud. "Ugh."

Xavier nodded. "Indeed." He said after a moment. "She'll have to find out the hard way." He chuckled. "And then she'll come to realize that it's my life to live, not hers."

"Keep trying," Wren said to the Infernal. "Get up and keep moving. You're still on the clock."

"All right," Don nodded his head, getting back up and rubbing the back of his head as he tried to think back to what he was doing before. He needed to focus more on distributing the energy to his wings, just like he would in any of the other forms of his power. He took in a deep breath before running forward and jumping once more, this time beginning to flap the wings as he gained altitude. He had to stay focus but by keeping a steady head he was able to at least not fal as he kept moving towards the rock slowly, the wings responding back and forth as he breathed in and out before landing right next to it, panting.

"Good job," Wren yelled to him. "Now fly back."
