Amaterasu's eye twitched at this, a vein popping on her forehead. "What the hell did you just call me?" Sounding very ticked off, the divine wolf lunged, hurling Infinity Judge at Yumiko with a snarl.

"Why the sudden change?" Don asked for a moment, only for Alfonso to turn around and begin to run. He heard Xavier speak but instead turned towards the sisters and charged in, running towards Meldamiriel as his arm took on its shotgun form and allowed him to fire a blast at the Celestial.

"Oh crud," Ken groaned, plasting spikes away with slashes from his sword. Unfortunately a few of the spikes pierced him down to the floor, causing him to let out a loud groan and grit his teeth .

The moment she realized the enemy had been distracted, she took some steps forward, grabbing the pistol and sending some warning shots of her own.

"Come on out little boy," she teased, "Grow a pair and fight me like a man."

Meldamiriel took Don's attack, hissing when she felt it, and dodged a swipe from her sister. Going back into a rolling flip, the Valkyrie slammed her fist into the ground, sending a shockwave all around her.

Standing up, she could see her younger sister recovering from the force of the attack, smirking. "Amazing," she looked back at Alfonso. "You're just as flimsy as your tiny religion," she then looked to Xavier. "And you. Well, there are words for things like you. Weak doesn't do you justice."

"Over here!" Wren yelled, trying to get Meldamiriel's attention.

Meldamiriel scoffed. "I'm done with you today, Liruliniel," she lifted her hand to the sky. Her eyes began to glow before the underground began to shake violently. The Valkyrie's energy was being channeled into the church's pillar, quaking it to bring it down on the rest of the inhabitants.

--

Anduriel appeared from the shadows, staring down at Ken. Without a word, she materialized a dagger, making to jab. That is, until she felt Meldamiriel's energy begin to surge. This left the Valkyrie open for only a second.

--

"Grow a-..." he muttered, narrowing his eyes. He loaded another round into the barrel before two shots went whizzing past, a third hitting his gun. "Oh, you can actually shoot. Good to know," he said lowly, shifting around a bit before firing his own shot. This one pierced through the wall, going at Rose.

--

Yumiko barely blocked the divine weapon, the force of the clash sending her flying back into a statue. She lifted her blade slowly, growling as she tried to stand. "Damn... you..."

"Insulting me of all creatures? You should be damned, ungrateful mortal!" Amaterasu spat, flames enveloping her canine figure as her rage grew. "Who do you think I am, some carbon copy?!"

Ken saw Anduriel's opening and immediately vanished, using his instant step to appear in front of her and throw his fist forward, black energy surrounding his fist as he threw it towards her.

'I don't think that's good at all," Don said in shock as he glanced up what Meldamiriel's attack was doing. "What should we do?"

The bullet had managed to hit Rose in the lower right side of her mid abdomen. She let out a hiss in pain as she put her fingers into the wound, pulling out a wooden bullet. She let the bloody piece of wood fall through her fingers and onto the floor.

"First you steal my boyfriend, and now you ruin my favorite sweater by shooting me?!" she growled angrily, "You have screwed up three times too many. Now it's my turn, holy roller." she then aimed her pistol in the direction of where the hole in the wall was and returned fire.

"You've insulted my religion and you want me to believe you're of divine heritage?!" Yumiko stood to her feet shakily, wincing at the pain in her leg. She hadn't fully recovered from her fight against the girls at the mall, and Amaterasu's attacks did nothing to help. "You're a mockery!"

--

Anduriel's eyes widened, letting out a low sound of pain as she flew back from Ken's attack. She disappeared into the wall before she hit it, and the shadows disappated alongside her. It was clear that his punch had dealt some very noticeable damage.

--

Evangeline smiled at Alexis, having finished her story on her mother. "Are you aware now, child?"

Alexis was in utter shock over everything Evangeline had told her about her mother. How was she not aware of it sooner? Was this why her mother kept her so shielded? There were too many questions that her mother needed to answer for. Perhaps she could ask Emmanuel since he seems to know Ana after all.

"I...I can't believe it," she trailed off, clearly in disbelief.

"You dare to mock me, even as you stand in shambles! Honestly! You're blinded by your own stubbornness!" Amaterasu's crimson markings began to glow brightly; the general vicinity burst into white flames, swallowing up a large portion of the courtyard. Enraged, she advanced, mere moments from smashing down Infinity Judge upon Yumiko's head.

"What, but... how?" Yumiko's eyes were wide. She was surrounded in holy fire - products of the divinities. "Who... you are... no..." Her lip quivered as she watched Amaterasu advance. "S-stay away from me!!" She swiped her blade, sending another wave at the wolf.

--

The boy Rose was fighting raised an eyebrow at her words. "Fuck yo-!" He was only able to get out before the bullet lodged itself inside of his hand. "AGH! FUCK!" He dropped his rifle, falling from the rafter and landing on the ground with a thud. Hissing in pain, he held his hand. The gunshot had dealt a fair bit of damage to his hand, making it so that any movement was impossible without pain. "BITCH!"

--

Wren looked around for a second, her eyes wide before the cathedral hall began to fall down on them. She looked to see her sister having disappeared, and turned to both Don and Amber. "RUN!" She yelled, taking off into a sprint out of the hall.

"Okaaaay!" Amber ran after her.

--

"Yes. We hardly could, either. To be honest, that girl Wren... she's equally as guilty," Evangeline said. "A Valkyrie, just like your mother. It's a shame, I know..."

The woman looked into the air. "It's time for me to go. I must return to my home... I'm sorry about the kidnapping. I just wanted to get to know you. Before, well... before I purge you and all things like you." She gave Alexis a smile, only this time her eyes were more vacant - soulless almost. "Goodbye, child."

With that, Evangeline disappeared, and the door to the room opened itself.

"What did I just do!?" Ken exclaimed in shock as he looked at his now normal hand, still surprised in the sudden energy that had surrounded it. However, as the cathedral's shaking instensified he instead opted to run out, deciding he'd think about the sudden increase in power later.

"Yeah!" Don yelled as he began to follow after Wren and Amber, noticing Alfonso following right behind the three of them. "Thanks for coming to rescues us Wren," he said to the Celestial, his voice falling a bit as he remembered what Meldamiriel has said. 'It really means a lot."

Alexis' eyes widened as she heard what Evangeline had said before disappearing. Wren was guilty like her mother as well? She had been duped by this woman? She wanted her dead after all. She had to find Emmanuel or Josiel. She hurried and ran out of the door, in mental turmoil. She wasn't sure who to trust or what to believe. All she knew that was she could only trust those two.

Rose smirked as she walked over to the injured exorcist. Smiling, her fangs began to protrude as she had bent down, her eyes deeply staring into his.

"I'm sure you'd love for me to be your bitch, wouldn't you?" she spoke softly before grabbing his head and attempting to sink her fangs into his neck. She hadn't had blood in a while, and needed a refill. Who else than the guy who ruined your favorite sweater?

"How dare you bring disgrace to my family!" She snarled, clashing weapons with the paladin. With this much force behind her attack, it would be enough to send any old mortal flying.

From the corner of her eye, Raku saw an explosion of white fire and what seemed to be a crumbling cathedral. "Who the fuck angered the atheists this time?" She chuckled drily to herself, kneeling before her father's grave.

Xavier and April made it outside the collapsing cathedral only for them to stumble upon the last person that Xavier wanted to see.

"Mom." Xavier muttered quietly, looking over at his mother. The woman held two red and black swords in her hands and she was staring out at the church. She turned and smiled, her ice blue eyes twinkling in the night air.

"I think you earned that tray of cookies." She said with a smile, causing April to grin as well.

"What are you doing here?" Xavier asked, frowning.

"An insurance policy." At this April rolled her eyes. "Once April told me what you were all up against, I was worried I might have to step in. Valkyries are no pushovers."

"But the exorcists can seal Inf-" Xavier started to say, but was cut off.

"Because I never trained you properly. A mistake I intend to rectify." His mother very rarely expressed regret. She brushed her long platinum blonde hair out of her eyes and sighed, knowing her son would protest.

"I can handle my-" Once again Xavier was cut off.

"If you could handle yourself, you wouldn't have lost your duel to that Exorcist. Your blood means you should be a terror, not a boy that has to be rescued." Xavier rolled his eyes. His mother had served as one of the top lieutenants in the armies of the Infernals for over 1500 years. Of course she was a badass.

"I have business to take care of." He protested.

"Business. If you're talking about that vampriss..." His mother rolled her eyes. "A lesser species. You're of noble blood you know, you shouldn't be interesting in lowering yourself like that."

"Hey!" April protested, knowing that she also fell into that category. And Xavier's mother hadn't protested when he had brought April home back then. She didn't know what had changed the woman's opinion but anyone who knew the Infernal knew not to question her.

"Mom." Xavier said flatly, not knowing what else to say. "I l-"

"Don't even say it." Cut off for the third time. "You're still just a boy. You know nothing about it."

Xavier sighed, knowing that his mother wouldn't take no for an answer. "Alright Mom, you win." His tone made it clear that he wasn't happy with how things were going. "I assume you want me to come home?"

"I do." She smiled. "I will say that I do like what you've done with your quarters. You clearly got your father's talent for interior design." A compliment, he wasn't expecting that. "Not only that but I took note of the wiring in the house. Your work I take it?" Xavier nodded. "Also very well done. Your application of the magical combined with the humane was actually quite good." At this Xavier raised an eyebrow. Whenever his mother flattered someone, it was because she had an angle. Xavier had learned that tidbit from his father. Speaking of which.

"Where's Dad? Wouldn't have he been able to help. Being Celestial and all, he could have talked to them?" Xavier asked.

"No. He doesn't like watching when I... work." His mother had a predatory grin that most only saw before their deaths. "You know that." Xavier chuckled. That was certainly true. "And he's making your favorite for dinner tonight." At this, Xavier and April both smiled. His father's homemade marinara was to die for.

"Guess I don't have a choice then." Xavier said with a grin as he looked over at April. "We should get going then right?"

"We shall." And without another word, his mother pulled the three of them through her seal, causing them to vanish from that place.

Wren stopped when Don had spoke about her coming to save him. She allowed Amber to run out of the building, the young girl turning to him. "Hey, come on, Wren!!"

The Celestial turned back to look at the rubble of the cathedral hall. She was silent for a moment before turning back to the group. Then, she walked over to Don, before pulling him into a hug. She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I'm... glad you're okay..." she whispered to him.

From her position sitting on the hilltop, Concordia had seen all of the events unfold. Really, had she entered the cathedral herself, this issue would've been solved immediately. However, it wasn't her place to do so. "Such baggage with these children," she said, looking down at the remaining fights to be finished.

--

Rose's opponent let out a small cry as his neck was pierced by her fangs. He convulsed violently, before going limp and unconscious from blood-loss. She had definitely won that battle.

--

The force was, indeed, able to send her flying back, crashing through the statue. Yumiko looked up for a second to see a figure stop in front of her.

Susanoo had gotten in front of Amaterasu, standing between his sister and the beaten female. "You done bullying this human?"

"Oi! Just because you're older than me, does not mean I take orders from you, idiot!" Amaterasu growled, glaring at his towering form. She herself took her human illusion, crossing her arms with an annoyed expression. "Even my idiot twin is more reasonable than you!"

"Oi, don't compare me to Tsuku," Susanoo said. "Come on, Ammy. Look at 'er. Yeah, she may have insulted you, but you're going to kill this mortal," he looked down at the barely conscious Yumiko. "This devout mortal. How do you think our ojiisama would feel about this? Murdering a human for simple insolence - you'd be no better than those damn Greeks."

"For once in his life, the gorilla has a point," Tsukuyomi walked from the cathedral as well. He fixed his robes before walking toward his siblings. "Leave that whelp be. She's no longer a threat."

"Mou. Not my fault she can't differentiate me from some brainless carbon copy. By the way, how stupid do you have to be to not realize when one of your Regalias are missing? Even Tsukuyomi isn't that bad." Amaterasu rolled her eyes at her siblings, snuffing out the holy fire before she began to walk away. She was enveloped in white inferno, taking off towards the safehouse like a stray meteorite.

"Guess it's time to go home," Raku muttered to herself, leaving the graveyard as she started towards the tarnished basement.

Alexis had to keep running. The young nephilim wasn't sure what to do next, and was absolutely terrified. Aimlessly, she kept running through corridors. Her young heart was pounding as her blood raced through her veins.

When Rose was finished with the meal of the exorcist, she stood up and wiped the blood from her mouth. It didn't taste as amazing and filling as Xavier's blood, but it would have to make do since she found out how dangerous nephalem blood was to a vampire. She still had to find Xavier though. With that, she stood up and began to walk deeper into the cathedral.
