Stephen Hillenburg has passed. He was the original creator of SpongeBob SquarePants.
I remember the first episode I saw happened to be the third episode ("Jellyfishing/Plankton!"), then I saw the real first episode ("Help Wanted/Reef Blower/Tea at the Treedome") a week later while on vacation in 1999, at a hotel.

Aw man I cried when I heard the news last night, his final words towards his son George W. Bush was so sweet, RIP.
