Information announced for Pokémon GO's upcoming sixth anniversary and Battle Weekend events

Niantic has released details on upcoming events in Pokémon GO. The game's sixth Anniversary Event will be held from July 6th, at 10:00 a.m. to July 12th, at 8:00 p.m. local time, and will focus on Charizard, which is #006 in the Pokedéx. Information was also given for the upcoming Battle Weekend event taking place from Saturday, July 9th, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, July 10th, at 11:59 p.m. local time.

Pokémon GO Anniversary Event
During the Pokémon GO Anniversary Event, Party Hat Charmeleon, Party Hat Charizard, and Cake Costume Pikachu will make their Pokémon GO debuts. This will also be the first time that Trainers are able to evolve their Party Hat Charmander.

Ultra Unlock bonuses will also be available during this event, if certain conditions are met during the Pokémon GO Fest: Berlin event.

New avatar items and stickers
Several sixth anniversary avatar items will be available to purchase in the in-game shop during this event and will continue to be available after the event ends. Get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.

Battle Weekend

From July 9th, at 12:00 a.m. to July 10th, at 11:59 p.m. local time, Team GO Rocket are back again to cause more havoc in the world. Special Research centered on Giovanni will be available. Complete it to earn a Super Rocket Radar. This Special Research will be available to claim until the end of the Season of GO on September 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Event bonuses
The following event bonuses will be active during the event period:
Team GO Rocket Grunts—as well as their leaders, Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo—are using different Shadow Pokémon. Different Shiny Shadow Pokémon may also be encountered than normal. In addition, Team GO Rocket has also turned the following Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon. Defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts to save them.

Giovanni will also be using different Pokémon, including the Shadow Latios. Get ready to face off against Giovanni and rescue Shadow Latios.
