Is there an updated version of a list of pokemon by habitats?

List of Pokémon by habitat - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia was all I could find but it only does pokemon up to gen 3 or something......what about pokemon from gen 4 to 8??

So....is there no way to do it by hand? Like make up a custom page and then siff through the pokemon's habitat's location or guesstimate from the pokedex entries, appearance and cameos from various sources? Or no one has bothered to try it?

Why haven't the newer games use this feature? Because it would be pretty cool to see what sort of pokemon live where in general at a glance beyond the gen 3 ones...

Also some of the types are wrong, for example mawile is now steel and fairy, not steel only....but I'm guessing you've left it like that to preserve what is shown in the games?

I don't know how feasible that is, considering 16 years have passed since then.

Only 898 pokemon to siff through..... Less than that because gen 3 is already done for you, so all you need to do is amend that and add the gen 4 to gen 8 pokemon which is about another 512.....

Grandfather clause is when something is still included in a certain group even if it doesn't fit anymore, just because it was there from the beginning (or at least pretty close to that).

No, because that would effectively be fans creating their own lore for a wiki that is a repository of information from the games. The initial list frankly doesn't always make that much sense, nor do later 'dex entries always convey much, if any, information about the areas in which species live. It's purely a specific feature from a specific game - no one knows why it hasn't been seen since. That may not be very satisfying, but I'm afraid the page will be remaining as is unless the feature returns.

Here's my updated habitat list. I'd like to note that everything listed here is my own subjective opinion, which is based upon a few factors: the creature the Pokémon is based upon, where similar Pokémon are placed, and/or my own interpretations of the limited categories give. I don't like the categorization considering it's very limited, there's no options for a desert, river, or snowy area, for example, and "water's-edge" and "rough-terrain" are pretty vague and subjective terms.

It doesn't have to be limited to only those categories, it can be as specific and detailed as you like - the more than better because I'm in the process of writing a fic and basing my fic around Kanto, and I know that Johto pokemon also exist in the Kanto region as does sinnoh and hoenn (because of those radio waves that apparently attract those generation of pokemon from different regions(Which you can only get at endgame but in my story, I want as much pokemon variety (Including all generation of pokemon) that could co-exist in the Kanto region and others that cannot don't exist in Kanto, by whatever reasons such as not been imported from another region or unsuitable habitat(thus those pokemon would be specialised to origin region....), which is fair enough - like ice types - there are no snowy mountains or anything cold in temperature that could have ice type pokemon living....maybe in the ocean or sea (or a trainer with a man made cold room that could house ice type pokemon? akin to a zoo?) where they are just wondering aimlessly or exploring away from their usual habitats) - or it could be a trainer came from that region and decided to breed a load of them and release them into the wild, letting them breed all by themselves and then we have sinnoh and hoenn region pokemon in kanto as well) and wanted to see what sort of pokemon were where if they existed in the Kanto region, so I could write about interactions or encounters with them as faithful to the medias (all of them) as possible without making them up as I go....but I guess I can also make up an excuse as to why such and such pokemon are here in Kanto if I must.... Thanks for trying. Are you able to update your list with your new (made up) categoires to expand them more specifically and logically correct(Of course through your subjected opinions and intepretations)? I could also warp or twist some of your opinions if I believe they don't fit right, around but that'd only be in my story so your list won't be affected and will only be used as a reference point.
