Why are most tournaments a Double Battle?

I don't get it.

It makes it harder to plan for. The Single Battle metagame is so used that the tactics are very well known; it is much harder to plan for a Double Battle because you have to consider 4 Pokemon rather than 2.

It makes it harder to plan for. The Single Battle metagame is so used that the tactics are very well known; it is much harder to plan for a Double Battle because you have to consider 4 Pokemon rather than 2.

In Double fights it's easy to focus strong attacks on one pokemon, and that makes even less pokemon viable for that setting (you shouldn't be taking a squishy one). That's eliminating chances for those pokemon, and eliminating the strategy that could be brought up with them. That's why I don't like Double Battles.

In Single you don't have that much firepower, and you should be choosing attacks and strategies more carefully. Less powerful combinations mean less pokemon that are vulnerable. Therefore more viable pokemon means more strategy actually.
