I’m not really going to be fond of the arrangement if Go will just capture lots of Pokémon only for them to rot at the lab. Pokemon Go mechanics don’t really translate well to the anime where Pokémon are living sentient brings.
Be glad that they won’t be sending the pokemon to the grinder for candy.

Koharu should look after Go's captures and be their mommy.

The highlight of this episode is almost definitely Scyther. Dragonite is seen on the poster with Meowth.
Venusaur: Kukui
Blastoise: Gary
Machamp: Bruno
Scyther: Tracey
Charizard: Leon/Kiawe/Ash's
Dragonite: Lance, Iris, Team Rocket
Sobble and Grookey: Most likely gonna be Ash's, seeing the are both next to Pikachu
Mimey: Will Ash catch it. I hope so. Would be his first Fairy and Psychic type.

Would love that Scyther to be Tracey's but based on this episode, it seems more then Likely that Go might catch it for his main team

Why would he catch something that belongs to his mom?
Thats the thing: It doesn't, since she hasn't caught Mimey. Even if Ash officially catches it, it changes nothing, since he can still leave it with his mom at home.

What are you talking about? Mr. Mime has belonged to Delia for over 20 years. Just because she didn't throw a pokeball at it doesn't mean it isn't hers.

That they have a connection, doesn't mean Mr Mime belongs to her. It can come and go as it pleases, with the main difference that it doesn't want to leave (Ash and Meloetta have a connection, but she still doesn't belong to him).

Ash catching Mr. Mime, doesn't change all that. Maybe he is forced to catch Mr. Mime, because he is hurt or something and they are too far away from a Pokecenter, so he catching it to keep it safe in a Pokeball (Would prefer a luxury ball for it though). Then, even when its officially Ash's, it can stay at home to do all the things it previously did, with the only difference its Ash's now, but even then he is allowed to come and go as he pleases and it also doesn't mean it has to fight for Ash in the future either.

Mr. Mime has been living, cleaning, and helping Delia maintain the house for twenty years. This isn't remotely similar to Ash and Meloetta. This is Misty and Togepi and no one seriously thinks Togepi didn't belong to Misty in the OS.

Or even after that, to be honest.

I'm ok with Gou catching as many mon as he can without forming a bond with them.

It's not like Ash formed a bond with every single one of his Taurus. His main one is implied to be the leader of the herd.

Anyway, out of all the bugs I hope he keeps Scyther in his main party to evolve him into Scizor later on.

Ash isn't going to catch his caretaker who belongs to his mom.
Then explain to me why he caught Rockruff, who belonged to Kukui (Despite being a wild mon, same as Mr.Mime).

Gou could be catching bugs as much as possible to get experience. Or it could be for Sakuragi's research. We saw in episode 02 that Gou carries a camera around and took close pictures of Lugia and recordings of its skin, wings and fin-feathers (the blue things on its back). Bug pokemon have been reduced to weak pokemon of lesser value for so long but we could have some genuine in-depth analysis of them - maybe get more information than what we know from the dex.

It is not. Kukui never treated Rockruff as his own Pokémon, just a Pokémon he was taking care of. Mimey is a part of the Ketchum household, with Delia having nicknamed it and even used it in a couple of battles.

With any luck Go won't use Scyther that often anyway considering that he'll probably end up catching so many Pokemon unlike Ash that he'll have a hard time showcasing them all equally.
