After reading the summary again, this episode doesn't seem like an Ash-focused episode anymore. If anything, "Ash being cursed by Gengar" may be used as an excuse to write Ash out of this episode so that Gou/Koharu can shine in his/her fight against Gengar.

Summary and Cast lists courtesy of Adamant

Mysterious phenomena caused by the Shadow Pokémon "Gangar" have been occurring at the Sakuragi Laboratories. For some reason, Satoshi has started to act weird as well... could he have been cursed by the Gangar?!

Summary:
Mysterious phenomena have been occurring recently at the Sakuragi Laboratories, like items being broken and rooms being ransacked. And believe it or not, the culprit turns out to be the very same Shadow Pokémon "Gangar" that has appeared there before, and which Satoshi and Go failed to get. Satoshi and Go's eyes blaze with enthusiasm as they claim they'll definitely take the chance to get it THIS time, but for some reason Satoshi suddenly starts acting weird... not only does he almost fall down the stairs, he also nearly ends up drinking the water from a flower vase by accident. Could he have been cursed by the Gangar?

Voice Cast:
Rica Matsumoto: Satoshi
Daiki Yamashita: Go
Ikue Ohtani: Pikachu
Yuichi Nakamura: Professor Sakuragi
Megumi Hayashibara: Musashi
Shinichiro Miki: Kojiro
Inuko Inuyama: Nyarth
Yuji Ueda: Sonansu
Yasuhiro Mamiya: Gangar
Sayaka Senbongi: Kikuna
Noriaki Kanze: Renji
Kenta Miyake: Estate Agent
Risa Shimizu: Madame
Tatsuki Kobe: Trainer
Mariko Nagai: Trainer's Girlfriend
Kenyu Horiuchi: Narration

The voice actor of Gou's Rotom Phone being absent in this episode means Gou won't caught anything in this episode.
Although the same thing could also be said about Ash and TRio.

They stole from us momma dragonite

I RECLAIM THAT THEY GIVE TO TEAM ROCKET THAT MICHAEL MYERS GENGAR RIGHT NOW!!!

Gengar is no one's friend, and it should stay that way. That said, the wait for another Koharu appearance is excruciating.

Maybe they just brought it to Giovanni, like they said they would?
Hey, they could always reunite with it via the gacha machine. That way its shtick wouldn't get old within 3 episodes.

They got a Bellsprout last time. I don't see why Giovanni would turn down a rare Pokemon.

Anyway, the turtle wasn't listed in PM013's summary, either.

Have to wonder what Pokemon will emerge from the Rocket Gachat this time

For a bit of fun

James: Boss, we're pleased to present you with this Chewtle
Giovanni: What exactly does this Pokemon do?
James: Well, it may look rather small here but when it evolves, it becomes a Pokemon that can grow to an usually large size.
Giovanni: Keep it for yourselves for now but when it does evolve, I'll take it.
