I liked the Magikarp segment, but the Slowking segment was pure garbage aside from the tail-end, with literally everything leading up to it being the same exact not-that-funny-to-begin-with gag repeated for 9 minutes.
I actually preferred the Slowking segment. Especially the part where things got fast-paced near the end.

He's good at comedy when he's not stuck on repetition like the Slowking helmet thing or the "ROMAN!!!" guy from the last episode.

Well, the use of repetition as a comedic device is a popular school of comedy.

And as seen in SM033, JN026, and JN038 where Fujisaku is the main writer, it is pretty apparent that he is a huge subscriber to this particular school of comedy.

So this is the mysterious Marshtomp episode, which is why he has a spot on the opening and poster. And it's a two-in-one like episode 26.

Gonna be an interesting one, to say the least.

Its good to see Marshtomp getting some focus, Brock's is the most prominent Marshtomp to appear in the series yet it didn't get much focus. Wish it had a whole episode devoted to it instead of just one half

I guess that, after what happened in the Piplup & Croagunk episode, none is gonna assume the Marshtomp in the episode will be Brock's.

I don't see what's wrong with not stretching out filler episodes.

We don't know that thus is set in Hoenn, but if so it's probably only the second half (which is less than I expected after all the Marshtomp promotion). To date there have been 3.5 episodes; the switch to Slateport in the Feebas episode didn't even serve much purpose (Vermilion also has a port). If this brings the count up to 4 after 41 episodes, so what? Johto has 3 and will probably get a Suicune episode by January.

Sinnoh and Unova are due for more episodes, but the fact that Go caught a fair few Kalos Pokemon during Korrina's return, implies that the writers aren't dying to explore more of that region or they would have spaced them out. You shouldn't expect equal treatment; it makes sense for OLM to prioritize the older regions alongside Galar.

Episode 26 was by the far the best thing this Series has done. Looking forward to this one but man this series has by far the most filler. It feels like they don't know how to pace things properly. I understand why they have so much filler because if we had 0 Filler then we would probably have gotten Darkest Day by Episode 20. Now, I don't count Goh's random spree-catching of Pokemon enough to discount an Episode as a filler.

Kinda funny that this preview thread for a filler episode is getting more attention than the preview threads for the two following episodes with actual story.
Probably because a lot of that speculation already happened on the thread about the poster.

yay goh catching marshtomp. I swear if ash doesn’t catch suicune...

Despite my dislike of the last two segment episode, I am more than happy to keep an open mind regarding this episode though the first segment doesn't sound as appealing
