There's also the fact that they included Skwovet in the opening among Goh's other more important Pokemon, and they've included things from fillers like Ludicolo and Marshtomp, so I think it's a fairly safe assumption that Skwovet will be involved somehow.

Assuming Gou enters Skwovet and wins the contest would he get a Poke-Egg? Don't know what Baby Pokémon Gou could end up with tho.

Skwovet and Morpeko reach the finals, Skwovet wins and evolves into Greedent. Episode ends with a gag that Greedent has already eaten all of the food they earned in like a day or something.
