That’s a separate issue, but I don’t disagree with that. What I do disagree with is how much impact it has on my enjoyment of the show. Personally, I’ve been watching Ash for over 20 years and I don’t really mind if he takes a backseat to someone else more often than not in this series.
A valid take though for me personally, it’s a bit disappointing that the first series that they officially proclaimed as having duel protagonists that they wrote the focus so lopsided.

Well to be fair, I do think Ash is still treated as a protagonist, regardless of if his screen time is shared with Goh evenly.
