Well, it’s a standard filler for me. It lost me on the premise when they decided to make it a Pikachu focus episode. Hyperbole trigger warning: Gengar got abandoned for a second time.

You know how you prepare yourself as much as possible for disappointment, but you're still hit with an unbearable amount of it?
Even worse when there's the potential for a good plot that's teased and then they quickly push it out of the way for something infinitely less interesting

On that sidenote, Fighting specialists need a bit more variety imo. I know Fighting's kind of a difficult type to work with due to how specific its elemental motif is, but for literally all but one Fighting specialist being martial artists is a bit ridiculous.
Brawly's a martial artist but he's primarily known for surfing, which helps to differentiate him from all of the other Fighting-type specialists. Also, I don't know if Hala is also an expert martial artist or not, but he's mostly known as a wise-old mentor kind of guy, so that also helps him to stand out.

I suppose that's true. I guess I just don't see those as standing out much compared to how different other type specialists tend to be. Take the Electric-type, for example: while its specialists do lean a bit on being inventors or mechanics, it was also allowed to have some truly out there reps like a freaking war veteran, a model, and even the Fourth Hokage (...jk, jk)

So its more a case of the Falinks choosing Pikachu rather than Pikachu taking the leadership role upon himself because he wants to. He basically has too. That makes it a little better imo.
Then that would make harder to determine who could get it, since they're showcasing that Tairetsu values its capacity to take their own decisions.

Honestly, I would hate that even more since they can't even get that trait right. I'm definitely skipping this episode now.

Hey so no one is catching Eiscue, and Goh gets Falinks and G.Stunfisk. It's a pointless episode too.
