Me too, Ash beat the Unova champion. One more champion defeat and I’ll be ok if he defeats Cynthia.

Iris was a "junior" Champion, so she was the best Champion for Ash to beat first. Once he reaches the Master Class, I can see him realistically defeat "senior" Champions.
