If you were paying attention to the show and it’s rankings as well as the scan you’d know there was no PWC match in this episode.

Granted Cynthia and Ash could have a quick match just to test their strength (to see Ash lose) but I don’t think that will happen either. No idea where the fear mongering of Cynthia and Ash’s battle happening now is coming from.

I doubt they'll battle when there is the more pressing issue of Unown to deal with.

At the end the issue with the Unown will be anticlimatic.
Based on what the scan said, it sounds terribly generic.
Not helped by that we've had better plots involving Unown before.

The vs 'Shadow/Double You' plot is already overused, it exists in all media.

At least a little match could spice up the episode.

Summary:
When Satoshi and Go learn that the sky in the Jouto region suddenly turned pitch black and morning stopped coming, they head there to research the matter! During their research, they're told that it seems night has permanently fallen ever since a girl named Kirara that they encountered in a park met with a mysterious Pokémon...?! Satoshi and Go work on unraveling the mystery alongside the Sinnoh region's Pokémon League Champion Shirona, who they ran into by chance at the historical remnant museum they went to for research!

I wasn't that off the mark.

This would be set in Johto, where Yogiras' encounter with an Unown happened.

I am more convinced that some elements from that episode would be reused.

Though, Shirona may end up saving this episode.

Once again i am reminded how weird some of the Japanese Pokemon names are, at least when translated to English. I mean this one is just two letters! I'm sure its not as weird in Japanese though.

Interesting, I’m still going to wait for the preview to judge this episode more, but seems like a solid one to me
