Seriuosly, WHAT do the showrunners have against Hoenn characters...

Guess a Hoenn character bullied them in school, stole their high school sweetheart and then killed their father for good measure.

None of the Hoenn Gym leaders were all that popular besides maybe Flannery. Other than possibly Steven I wouldn't expect to see much of the way of other Hoenn characters. They'll avoid Norman due to his obvious connection with may/max and I can't really see any of the others appearing.

We already visited Lavaridge town and Mauville city and neither Flannery or Wattson appeared. And now we're at the space center and no Tate/Liza. So that's 3 already skipped for sure, 4 if you count Norman.

Why do you think the Hoenn gym leaders are unpopular to the staff? It is puzzling to occasionally visit a region and just ignore the people that work there, instead opting to insert other characters to fill the plot.

Tate and Liza appearing would have been good as it would have alleviated the apparent lack of female representation the episode seems to have.
