I think that this episode will be in 2021 if they didn't stopped for covid event in 2020

But isn’t Infernape still barred from Galar?
Yeah, but by that logic neither Ash nor Flint should be able to bring one over either. Kabu having one would indeed be weird, but the anime is no stranger to making changes to game characters' teams. Plus Infernape is a Fire-type, so it still fits Kabu.

...Actually, I just thought of a possible fourth candidate the Infernape might belong to: Mustard. Hey, Mustard is a Fighting-type specialist and mentored Leon, so it'd be pretty cool if he too turned out to have a Fire Starter.

What about you guys

It's confirmed to be Flint battling Leon on Twitter, and apparently Leon defeats Flint easily. Really makes me wonder if this does inspire Ash to use Infernape in Master Class

Summary and Partial VA list courtesy of Adamant

An unexpected turn of events leads to Satoshi joining Dande in interacting with Pokémon, which he calls "training"?! What will Satoshi's impression of Dande be now that he's learned of this unexpected side of who he knew as an undefeated Champion...?

Summary:
Satoshi was originally going to search for Pokémon in the Galar region alongside Go, but an unexpected turn of events led to him training with Dande instead! What Dande calls "training" is actually him playing and interacting with his Pokémon, and while this surprises Satoshi, he also feels a strong kinship with him. Meanwhile Go runs into Sonia on his search for Pokémon, and learns of a surprising side to the undefeated Champion from her.

Voice Cast:
Rica Matsumoto: Satoshi
Daiki Yamashita: Go
Ikue Ohtani: Pikachu

Tbh I’d be more keen for Incineroar returning than Infernape, even if he’d just come back to lose

He hasn’t battled yet and I wanna see Ash adjust to its new fighting style and moveset
This would've been an actual great plot point. Make it Leon actually teaching Ash stuff and learn more about him rather than just show "Hurr durr Charizard strong".

It really just puts into perspective Ash really should use older Pokemon in Master Class because this power gap is too high. I do think we'll see Infernape in Cynthia's battle at the least

As much as I hate the idea of Infernape hogging the screentime Ash's current team so desperately needs, I'd much rather it actually come back and do something instead of the show constantly teasing us and then doing nothing.

Given the non-Covid related breaks we've had, it probably wouldn't.

Also, what would it matter if it did?

Thaaaank you. Glad to see someone else feels the same. Better for Ash's Infernape to show up and accomplish something, rather than most of his current team doing nothing.

See? Might've been better for it to have been Ash's Infernape. Ash is probably stronger than Flint at this point anyway, LOL.
Honestly, I'd rather they show Flint's Infernape for this particular episode because the motive of the battle seems to be "Hurr durr Leon strong", if Ash's Infernape turns up just to lose to Leon and obviously won’t get a revenge attempt because it’s Pikachu's rival, that would've been really bad.

They should've had Charizard vs Ash's Dracovish instead of a random character. Would give some incentive for the thing to get stronger, and let us see it in god knows how long, and would show achieve the same "Leon strong" with a personal stake and without ruining any established character arcs.

The official Japanese Pokémon account just shared a snippet of the new opening sequence for next week, sung by Rica Matsumoto herself.

And with that, we have yet another pattern suggesting that Gen 9 is indeed coming this year - Rica has sung the last anime openings for both XY and SM. And with only one last Galar city left to see, Wyndon, I think we're now entering endgame for PM 2019.

Seems like some people predicted correctly: a new version of 123.
