Seems to me that Goh is looking determined and Inteleon is calm and collected. As for the size difference, I think it could just be the perspective.

Would have been more interesting if Ash went up against Cynthia, Lance, Steven and Diantha. If it is a round robin, that would mean Ash would have to fight Leon twice.
