It all begins with a roll of the dice. A pair of hard cubes of ivory clicking against a wooden board. They flip over once, twice, and then land.

The first player begins to reach for their piece, only to find that it had moved before their hand reached it. They all listened to the scraping noise as they watched the obsidian simian slowly slide forward five tiles, before coming to rest menacingly atop a square white as a rhino's horn.
As they stare, the formerly blank crystal ball in the center of the board comes to life, with a poem appearing on its top. The players lean in, as if mesmerized by the game.

Don't be fooled, it isn't thunder.
Staying put would be a blunder.

For a moment, they all sit still, watching the board in disbelief. That moment passed, however, when the ground began to shake...

After getting acclimated to returning to the game, the Spirits began hunting for the players. Slowly, they traveled through the house, searching for their targets.
Someone noticed an out-of-place movement out of the corner of their eye.
"There!" someone yelled.
As one, the spirits stampeded towards the surprised figure. It was over in an instant.
As they stared down at its dead body, it slowly crumbled into sand, spreading over the floor.
That wasn't right.
Max1996 was lynched!
They were the Quicksand, the Town Roleblocker!

Everyone laid asleep in their beds, dreaming sweet dreams, and the occasional nightmare. Their rest was not long for this world, however; they were each and every one awoken by a strike of lightning, seemingly right outside their tent. Upon running out into the darkness, they were immediateyl hit with the fact that they remembered themselves as being in a house before. But now, they were surrounded by a thick, insurmountable jungle.
Upon exploring, they found that only one tent lay in the wreckage of the lightning; that of @Calvin ッ, who had turned into a bolt as he was released from the world.
Calvin has died!
They were the Thunderstorm, the One-Shot Lightning Rod!

As soon as they witnessed this, they once more heard the clicking of ivory on wood.

The scraping noise was once more heard as an ivory elephant ticked along the board, landing on the ninth space. And then came the riddle, echoing into everyones minds.
This will not be an easy mission.
Monkeys slow the expedition.
The time for rest was over.

All right, now seems like a good time.

After last night's... incident... the group kept hunting. Searching anywhere for the players.
"Hey, where's Water?" someone called. As one they realized... sometime during their hunt, WaterBlueMan had disappeared. Nobody knew when they'd left, or where they were. And so, the hunting party backtracked.
They eventually did find WaterBlueMan, just standing there, staring forward. Then, they realized why it was that they hadn't noticed Water's absence... because they weren't part of the group. With a yell, a spear flew across the room and through WaterBlueMan's chest. And then another through the other chest.
And so the two fell. Brother and sister, together, Judy and Peter Shepherd died.
They heard yelling from somewhere in the group, but nobody knew from where or who.
All they knew was that they were one step closer to winning the game.
WaterBlueMan has been lynched!

In the night, a figure walks through the camp. Stepping through the tents, they see Contrainer, sleeping on the couch. Despite looking like a human, he slept like a cat, legs and arms curled beneath him.
Unfortunately, despite his reflexes, he didn't wake up in time to stop his premature death.
As he bled out, he began to grow orange fur, with black and brown spots. Whiskers came out from his lip, and his teeth grew... though the transformation, in death, was worth nothing.
In the morning, the town awoke to the corpse of a leopard, for which none claimed responsibility.
With a sickening thud, the sound of dice was heard again. But it was different this time... lesser.
On this day, only a single die rolled.
Three.
Don't stop the game, you realize
Or one of you may vaporize
The jungle seemed to move around the group, players and spirits alike, and nobody could tell where they were, or where the others were.
They were drawn together by a yelp of fear.
One by one, they came across ExLight in a clearing. But they then realized that this hadn't always been a clearing... the very trees were falling apart around them. Piece by piece, atom by atom.
ExLight looked to be in immense pain, and as the trees fell apart, so did he.
Within moments, the jungle was gone.
It's time for the game to continue.

After celebrating the shortened dice roll, the spirits once more continued their hunt for the players. Despite the complete lack of jungle around them, they remained in high spirits... well, all but one.
CheffOfGames looked out upon the land that was once his kingdom in despair. Unmoving, he simply tried to comprehend what had happened. He had once been called King of the Jungle... but that time was no more.
He asked to leave the game, and in doing so, the other spirits killed him, believing him to be a player wanting to escape. But instead, as he died, a mane began to grow around his neck, and before the transformation had ended, they knew: the Lion was dead.

In the night, a figure strode through the forest. Despite not being initially from the jungle, he had become a part of it over the years. It had taken hold of him, and he was more than happy to let it remain that way. But his past was not something to think of now; he had prey to catch.
His target lay grazing out in the fields, munching quietly on some leaves. In the dim morning light, he couldn't be sure, but the gray skin, that magnificent ivory... this could be the one he was searching for. He cocked his rifle and aimed steadily at the beast. He felt his heart beat.
1... 2...
BANG!
The shot could be heard throughout the house. Echoing from room to room, it shocked everyone.
The creature screamed, then collapsed to the ground, still. He walked over to inspect his kill.
It seemed that Laurentus hadn't been the elusive creature he'd hoped... but a rhino was a good consolation prize, if he said so himself.
That was when he heard the sound of a saber being unsheathed behind him. Without time to reload his weapon, he unsheathed his own saber and turned around to come face to face with another person. The two stared at each other in the dim twilight, breathing heavily.
"Aren't you going to kill me?" the other figure asked "Or at least try?"
"You aren't the one who summoned me here. I don't have any desire to kill you today."
"Then you'll be the one dying, Jinjo."
His eyes grew wide, before a machete struck between them, and the Great White Hunter fell dead.

Laurentus has been killed! He was the Rhino, Spirit of the Bodyguard!
Jinjo has been killed! She was Van Pelt, the Serial Killer!

With the two dead, something seemed to shift. The balance of power maybe. All was not going well for Jumanji.
And then the dice rolled once more.

The grating noise of a moving piece once again filled the air, before a prophecy came unto the entire group, warning them of the future.
You're almost there, with much at stake
But now the ground begins to quake

Almost as soon as it was over, the card's speech became reality, as the ground shifted beneath them.
But the spirits held no fear, for they were now feeling stronger than before, despite being nearly defeated...
The game is now in LyLo
The board has now reached 19/32 spaces. Only 13 spaces until you reach Jumanji.

Megapod was caught in a lie.
The few remaining spirits of Jumanji were fast surrounding him, death on their faces. Scurrying up a ladder and into the attic, Megapod did his best to last as long as he could.
He locked the trap door behind him and sat on it, staring out the small window across the room into the jungle.
How long could he stay up here?
Just as he thought that, he began to sweat... heavily. And then he collapsed.
The disease took most of the night to kill Megapod. He sat there in agony, the wrath of the jungle upon him.
And, when first morning light came, the game was over.
