Masuda's announcement has nothing to do with the PokéPark 2. We know that he is going to reveal some details about the event Mewtwo, which could be foreshadowing the next main series game.

That hasn't been confirmed. And I doubt they would reveal the RS remakes or Pokemon Grey before 2012.

It has been confirmed that he is there for the Mewtwo coverage. The last time he announced an event, it led to a game announcement two months later. Besides, considering that we've had three spin-off games since Black and White, it is quite reasonable to expect that the first 2012 title will be a main series game.

Pokepark 2?

Ugh, I knew it.

I knew I shouldn't have expected something good.

It's interesting to note that CoroCoro's page about Mewtwo acknowledges the fact it is catchable in HGSS. This raises the likelihood that there is something special about the event Mewtwo, and by that I don't just mean its moves.

I wasn't referring to its ability, either. Considering that Pressure is more useful than Unnerve, this decision doesn't strike me as odd at all.

That's what people said about the Pikachu-colored Pichu. They were proven wrong by HGSS.

Pichu at least was Masuda's favorite pokemon at the time... but what will he unlock? a in-game Mew event? that would make up for it

I'm fairly sure that Mewtwo is more popular than Pichu is among the fandom, which is what counts.

That's the general gist of it. I expect an event with some backstory akin to HGSS' Sinjoh Ruins and Ilex Forest events.

You complain about this event and want a gimmicky Dream World promotion at the same time? I suppose that Moody Smeargle might be worthwhile (despite being banned by most competitive players), but your logic is still baffling. At any rate, all Japanese events will most likely be carried over.

If Mewtwo actually does something besides look pretty I won't have a problem... and Smeargle i s pretty cool eh sorry for bitchingit just annoys me that Mewtwo gets and event even though we don't really need him

I don't think I'm gonna say another word until Tuesday's and Sunday's events are done. But at this point, with Pokepark 2 coming out in Winter 2011, it looks like we won't be getting our Stadium-esque game for a while.

You mean not until the Wii U is released, which is the only explanation why a PokéPark sequel is being released first, when the first game was only released two years ago - three years after PBR. This is the longest gap between console battle games we've ever had.

but wasn't pokepark very unpopular? why waste it on a game nobody likes? but hey we might get a Staduim/collo/Battle Revolution game eventually.

Unpopular with the hardcore, older fandom =/= Unpopular with the child, target audience.

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, I think it's nicer to have the next Stadium game for Gen V to be on the Wii U (so they can take advantage of the HD graphics and other stuff). But to me, it's still going to be a while since the Wii U isn't expected to be released until March/April, and this is September.

I wouldn't expect a Wii U game until late 2012, since a 3DS main series entry needs to be released first; it would be very awkward if they promoted Wii U and DS communication. But honestly, I'm done expecting anything good from Genius Sonority; their next title may not have RPG elements if they focus on the Wii U's graphics instead.

Aren't they trying to reach out to the older fanbase though? isn't that why the made B/W so dark compared to the others. still Pokepark had a lukewarm reaction...

We can wiat.. I hope they make a new Collo game I'd love to see Orre again and since Orre's subosably based on Arizona it fits with Unova/New york)...I never played the Stadium games or Battle Revolution
