Kanto/Johto Sequels

Does anyone think that the reason why Brock and Misty was removed from this month's movie, is because they are getting redesigns for an upcoming game and they don't want to spoil the surprise?
I figured they didn't reintroduce them into the movies, so that they could send Ash off on a new journey. Also, I personally believe the movie takes place in a universe where gym leaders don't abandon their responsibilities to go off on adventures. :ROFLMAO:

A few things.
1.Erica has her FRLG design so it's not in Kanto's future.
2.Brock and Misty were replaced because supposedly the director wanted to showcase Piplup and Lucario ( he's obsessed with them).
3. The movie so far has been a smash hit and has managed to pull in a lot late 20- 30 year olds that haven't seen a Pokemon movie in years.
4. Finally the teaser for the next movie showed a futuristic setting that clearly isn't Alola.
The potential of Kanto sequels is there without a doubt.

1,2,3 are right but 4 is completely wrong, please do not spread misinformation.

I'm just saying what I saw. The teaser showed some advanced Dome.
It might not mean much or maybe I missed something but that's what happened.

Dephender said that dome in the background of the teaser was from the 20th movie, so it doesn't really mean anything.

I would love that. I'd like to see a sequel that takes place several years after Lillie was in Kanto. That paves the way for regional variants showing up in Kanto and makes the Pokedex more varied. I also can't wait to explore a grid-less Kanto!!

I dunno... I still feel like these two generations, especially Gen I, have had their time in the sun and should step aside for the newer ones. I'd personally feel borderline betrayed by this franchise if we get even more Kanto instead of that remastered Sinnoh. The big 20th anniversary is over.

Besides the Virtual Console releases, we haven't seen Kanto in 8 years. And that was a really watered down Kanto.
The Pokémon may have been receiving attention, but the region has not.

HGSS released 8 years ago.

FRLG released 13 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I still think we should get Kanto/Johto sequels. They'd be a good move for the franchise right now. Just wanted to correct that claim.

And the Pokemon mostly represent the region. So, we've got Kanto attention. Iirc, Alolan forms are actually made to stimulate the people from the Gen 1 era, so Alolan forms are a valid example of Kanto "pandering".
