Calix was surprised by the quick response, but quickly overcame his shock. "I'll team up with you, (Parker? Yeah, it was Parker. Pretty sure that's what Oak mentioned.) Parker. I'm sure we'll do great!" Calix said, flashing a smile. Winona chirped in approval, still planted firmly on Calix's head. He met the eyes of Aki, the shiny Froakie staring at him as well. Those two are sure to be tough opponents... I better watch my back... Calix thought strategically. Just one more person, and he'd have his first pokémon battle.

[I too assume we're starting off at Level 5, though I'm not totally opposed to an egg move, so that the whole dialogue isn't 'Scratch' and 'Peck']

Pokemon are level 5 yes.

I will post soon, been short on time.

Max was the last one of the people in the lab to walk up, his eyes looking down at the pokeball that sat in front of him, curiosity rising in him as to what Pokemon could be waiting for him inside of the ball. He stretched his hands out and grabbed the ball slowly before bringing it close to his face and giving it one more look. After that he threw the pokeball against the floor, releasing a small Charmander who stretched its arms out and yawned loudly before smiling at him. Max just gave it a gentle smile before giving his thanks to the professor and walking out of the lab.

"I think I'll call you Dragon," He said towards the Charmander as the two made their way through Route 1. The Pokemon looked up at him, its expression showing that it was confused or maybe even weirded out by the name it had been given. "Simple names are easier to remember," Max pointed out calmly.

Max finally made it to Viridian City and to the Pokemon Center where he signed up for the Pokemon League. He was never exactly one to dream of grandiur nor was he the kind of person that'll pursue a dream without considering the posibility of failure. However, the reason for him starting his journey was the league and as thus that was what he signed up for.

He noticed a few of the people that he had seen at the lab talking about having a double battle, something that increased his curiosity as he walked over to them. "I can be the last person if you want," Max pointed out as he slowly walked towards them. "I suppose I'll be your partner then?" he asked curiously and looked towards Aki.

"Sounds fine to me," Aki replied, nodding. "Your Charmander looks like a good ally to have, at least I think so." He smiled a little, before his Froakie leaped forward and prepared to battle.

The final person had arrived for the double battle. The stage was in place. Calix was about to send a command to Winona when a felt a tug on his pant leg. A cheery Blissey was using an old marker and a portable whiteboard to tell the group to battle outside. Calix chuckled and walked out the doors of the center a respectable distance away, the others following him. When they had gotten in place again, he smiled. Winona flew forward, hovering in the air above him, eyeing her opponents. Calix was ready to battle.

Deciding to have none of that riff-raff, Dahlia and her Mudkip, now named "Bellamy", headed towards the pokemon gym.

However, as soon as she entered, a man with dark hair and glasses told her that the gym leader wasn't inside.

Before she left, she noticed a tile with an arrow on it. It seemed to be propelling whatever fell upon it, without any sort of noticable friction.
"Fascinating" she said.

Although he wanted to watch a tag battle, Jet decided it would be better to get a slight head start on the others.

There was a man blocking the doors of the gym, and since he looked intimidating, Jet thought best to leave it, and get some pokeballs. Which now that he had his trainer card, he could now do.

He didnt have that much money on him, so he only bought five, and then two potions.

After that, he decided to walk to the forest, with Sneasal by his side for protection.

Yeah! Parker thought. The fourth trainer, Max, had a Charmander. Parker thought he remembered him as being from the lab. Now, hopefully Calix's Swablu is good at flying, and we'll be a-okay. The only thing I'm worried about is the sword guy's Froakie. That might be a problem. "Where... do we go? I'd be fine with beginning, but I doubt we're allowed to have our battle right here. Let's go outside." If he remembered correctly, Charmander had the same early stage moveset as Fennekin, seeing as though Parker's brother has a killer Charizard, and after seeing Fennekin's moveset earlier. (yah, he gotz a brother) Parker thought quickly that he needed to buy a couple things from the PokeMart, so he rushed out of the building real quick without explanation, going to grab a couple Poke Balls and a few Potions. Going up against a Froakie, he was gonna need the Potions.

Calix had finished his buying a while ago - he didn't have too much money left. While waiting for Parker to get back, he assessed his opponents. His eyes kept drifting back to that shiny Froakie. Anyone who had ever seen a shiny Greninja, in person or otherwise, would know how beautiful (and dangerous) they were. Aki was sure to be a clever trainer. But then, with Parker's Fennekin and Winona, they should do fine.

If you want to know a lot about pokemon, Cinnabar is the place to be. Not only is it home to the self-proclaimed "Pokemon Quiz Master", who regularly dispenses pokemon trivia, but it also houses not one, but two pokemon labs (though one's in rather poor condition). So long as you don't mind the town having to be rebuilt constantly due to the occasional volcanic eruption, it is a wonderful place to live, since you'll get a constant influx of discoveries, inventions, and trivia throughout your life there.

After fetching a grumpy old man some coffee, Dahlia enterred the second route. Here, she wanted to try something. She got on her phone, accessed the music app, and selected "Sinnoh Sounds". According to the seller, it's a tune from the Sinnoh region, and is supposed to be able to attract wild pokemon. While it seemed to good to be true, it was on sale that day, and it certainly wouldn't hurt to try it out once.
The song played. Seemed abnormally happy.

After a few seconds, Dahlia noticed a small turquoise creature emerge out of the underbrush. "Bellamy, Mud Slap". The mudkip nailed the creature in the eyes, dazing it for a bit.
Dahlia took a pokeball out of her bag. Looks like this thing will be the first capture.

OOC: Any rules regarding capturing pokemon?

OOC: Not really, for when capturing extremely weak pokemon, i can almost garuntee a capture, whereas if its a rarer pokemon, i'd have to think about what to do with that.

Im also planning on doing a little thing where i post what pokemon are available on what route, and then i will put stars next to their name ranked in rarity/capture level. I was then thinking, if you caught it, it would depend on the quality of your post.

Opinions?

OOC: Will these 'mons correspond to where they are caught in the games? And will they only be from Kanto?

OOC: With one maybe two extra mons from different regions, yes.

(sorry not posting.. got stuff)
Luke wanted to challenge the first gym. He believed the leader was Brock. Before Luke did challenge the gym, he decided to train his Fletchling, which he nicknamed Sky (since its a female). He fought wild rattata and pidgey. He found no interest in catching them either. "I heard there is a Pikachu around this area. I would love to catch one!" said Luke. "Fletchling Fletch!" the bird flew in vertical circles as its very excited.
*edit* no more eevee lol

Uh, i dont know where you are, but i dont think there are any eevees in Viridian Forest

While the other trainers were getting their Pokemon, Rob was in a sticky situation north of Pallet. He started his short adventure to Pallet Town from his hometown of Pewter alongside his older brother, who was quiet the trainer. Rob wanted to travel alone, but his brother wouldn't allow it.

The two brothers came across many wild Pokemon on the way to Viridian, but they were no problem. It seemed as if everything was going just as expected. At Viridian, Rob entered a store to buy a couple treats for the lifelong partner he was about to receive. Although no one would have guessed through his straight face, he was excited.

"Koffing!" Rob looked around. He could have sworn he heard a Koffin, but he had never seen a wild one around where he lived. He peered out the window just in time to see his brother in a Pokemon battle with a man in a strange suit. The man's Koffing was no match for the Alakazam owned by Rob's brother. The poor Pokemon fell with one psychic attack from Alakazam.

Rob was amazed by what he just witnessed. He ran outside to see the man running away to the north.
"What was that about?"
His brother looked down at Rob. "This is why I wanted to escort you. That was a thug who was up to no good. Luckily, he wasn't strong. Forget it, we need to hurry up and get to the lab. We're running late."

Rob was confused, but he followed his brother without a word to Pallet Town. The lab was much bigger than he expected. After a short farewell to his brother, Rob headed straight into the lab. Another trainer tried to greet him, but he hurriedly made his way to the table with the pokeballs. No one was around, so he grabbed whichever one he wanted. The one he chose had a familiar energy about it.

The ball struck the floor and flooded it with rays of light. Rob's eyes widened when he saw what came out. It was a Natu. He gave a rare smile as he picked it up and it spread it wings as if it were soaring through the air. "I'll name you Jet."

Dahlia took out her pokedex to identify this weird turquoise thing. "Shinx- Type: Electric" the Pokedex said.

"Okay, Electric type, you're at a disadvantage Bellamy, think you can handle it?" The mudkip nodded. "Okay, Mud slap"
A small glob of mud got thrown at the Shinx's eyes, blinding it. It tried to pounce in retalation, but ended up missing completely.
"Now, tackle."
Bellamy rammed headfirst into the Shinx, knocking the blinded creature off balance. Before it could regain its balance and attack, it was tackled yet again by Bellamy, causing it to topple over. Blinded and bruised, it stopped trying to fight, and just laid still on the ground.

"That should be enough", she said. She recalled Bellamy back to his pokeball, then tossed an empty one at the downed Shinx.

Im just saying, but i never said there were shinx on the first few routes.

So now you know, but because you didnt really know, captured!

Rob held Jet the Natu in his arms, facing the other trainers in the area. He was hoping to get to see a battle. Watching the others would give him an advantage later because he would know what to expect. He was not worried about catching any Pokemon or battling right away, because he wanted to bond with his new partner first. He got out a snack he had bought earlier in Viridian and gave a piece to his Natu.

Gonna pull myself out of this, although the RP shall still go on!

I will probably make a google doc with pokemon available where just so you know. I will also reguarly update it with the pokemon you guys have caught!
