Kaohsiung Island-wide Battle of the Candy King Pokémon GO event announced for Taiwan

The official Pokémon GO Chinese language website has announced the "Kaohsiung Island-wide Battle of the Candy King" Pokémon GO event that will be held exclusively in Taiwan from 21 September 2021 at 8 a.m. to 28 September 2021 at 8 p.m. (UTC+8 Taiwan time).

In this event, Trainers will compete in catching Pokémon to earn Candy and points for their city or county. Ranking will be based on the average number of Pokémon captured by each Trainer in each city or county, with the city or county in first place when the event concludes being crowned the inaugural Taiwan Pokémon Candy King. Rankings can be checked here during the event.

The cities and counties eligible to participate include:
  • Keelung City
  • New Taipei City
  • Taipei City
  • Yilan County (excluding outlying islands)
  • Taoyuan City
  • Hsinchu County
  • Hsinchu City
  • Miaoli County
  • Taichung City
  • Changhua County
  • Nantou County
  • Yunlin County
  • Chiayi County
  • Chiayi City
  • Tainan City
  • Kaohsiung City
  • Pingtung County (excluding outlying islands)
  • Taitung County (excluding outlying islands)
  • Hualien County
Trainers in the city or county crowned as the inaugural Taiwan Pokémon Candy King will receive 200 XP bonus when catching Pokémon between 9 October 2021 to 11 October 2021 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (UTC+8 Taiwan time) daily. Trainers in other cities or counties in Taiwan will receive 100 XP bonus when catching Pokémon during the same period.
