A new trailer released by The Pokémon Company International for Pokémon Legends: Arceus has introduced several groups that trainers will encounter and interact with during their adventures in Hisui. The trailer also reveals how players will be able to obtain the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is currently available for pre-order, ahead of a worldwide release on January 28th, 2022.
The Two Clans:
The Diamond and Pearl Clans, like their namesake games, share many similarities. The members of each clan wear special clothing modeled after particular Pokémon. Each clan also has a connection to some of the Noble Pokémon, with some of their members serving as wardens to these Pokémon. The primary differences between the clans are the beliefs that motivate them and their actions in Hisui, though even here there are some similaries, with both clans holding a reverence for "Almighty Sinnoh", who they appear to view as a diety responsible for creating the Hisui region.
Diamond Clan
The beliefs of the Diamond Clan focus on the importance of cherishing the present, and living in the moment with one's allies.
Their leader is Adaman, who is described as a daring and headstrong young man. His hates of wasting time seems to lead him to engage in sometimes reckless behaviour, rushing forward to act without putting deep thought into the particulars of the situation. His partner Pokémon is Leafeon.
Pearl Clan
The Pearl clan's beliefs center around valuing and sharing the land of Hisui with others. They claim the "Almighty Sinnoh" made Hisui vast so Pokémon could live freely throughout.
Seemingly suspicious and cautious by nature, the Pearl Clan leader Irida may not trust the player fully when they first encounter them, but will slowly open up as the game's story progresses. She believes it's important for people to have courage to handle the Hisui region. Her partner Pokémon is Glaceon.
The Ginkgo Guild Merchants
The Ginkgo Guild are a group of merchants that have come from outside the Hisui region to do business. Members of the guild can be found around the various locations of the region, selling the wares they have gathered during their travels.
It's not clear exactly how big the guild is, but the trailer highlights two people in particular associated with the guild, their leader Ginter, and Volo, a merchant associated with the guild. Though nothing specific has been revealed about their individual personalities and motivations, clips included in the trailer suggests that players might encounter Volo at several times in their journey as he travels around the region.
Add Darkrai to your Team
A research request in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that will lead to an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai. Players with only be able to access this special research request if they have a save file from the recently released Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Pokémon Shining Pearl games on their console, associated with the same Nintendo account. The research request allowing players to encounter Darkrai will be available to accept in Jubilife Village after viewing the game’s end credits.
Darkrai is said to be active during nights of the new moon. The Pokémon is known for lulling people to sleep, and making them have nightmares.

Players with save files from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Pokémon Shining Pearl will be able to receive a special outfit, the Modern Team Galactic Set, from the clothier after joining the Galaxy Expedition Team. The clothier is available approximately one hour into the game's story.
The Modern Team Galactic Set is a 3 piece clothing set including the Modern Jacket, Modern Trousers, and Modern Shoes.
