The second half of the attack name is a play on words based on the ambiguity of being written in hiragana rather than kanji. While it makes sense to read it as 裂く(さく), which is the kanji for rip/tear/cleave, this could equally well be 咲く (さく). While that kanji is normally used for a flower blooming, it also has an older meaning of waves rising up and breaking. |
