12 hours ago I would've bought the game and a Switch.

But with all that's been revealed since - basically 400 cap, no real post-game etc. GF won't be getting my money.

I think it's time people stop defending them too. Their reasoning for the dex cut was high quality animations and balance, neither of which turned out to be true.

Losing 500 Pokemon is a joke.

So, if you're getting it, enjoy it, but there is no defense for GF. They just lied and lied some more.

I would probably consider the same if I didn't already own a Switch.

I actually laugh inside because they claim their reasoning for not revealing so much before release this time is because of what happened with SM, I now genuinely believe it's because even with datamines ect; they wanted people to buy the game not knowing how little overall Pokemon were in and not at all for "shock value".

Of course, I will get the games as it's a new adventure but 1000 steps back in my belief in GF to continue making at least half of their fans happy.

After today, dexit is a lousy excuse especially with their expanded team.

No post game is an exaggeration, or a lie. It is howewer, based on the info we have so far (because we don’t know yet if there’s more), disappointing, spoiler below.

It seems to be that there’s a battle tower, and Gym rematches with Gigantamax, or Raid battles, because it wasn’t clear based on different posts. We then capture the legendary and fight Hop that caught the other. It’s assumed that the Gigantamax raid, some/most/all, are unlocked postgame, so I don’t know if you’d consider them postgame.

Yeah this was one of the shit ones.

The body is as generic a penguin as you can get, so instead they threw a block of ice for its head and called it a day...JFC I'm not sure there has been a lazier design ever. Many ugly designs yeah, but having this qualify as a Pokemon...fucking hell.

Still would've liked to have played the game with Copperajah, Centiskorch, Dragapult and Toxitricity amongst others.
Another thing that's really bothering me about the pokemon besides the designs, is the amount of fucking puns they used to name them.Thievul? Sandaconda? Really? Like you couldn't come up with better names? It feels like they went pun-happy this Gen, and gave them the cheesiest names they could think of.

Higher fidelity models, new animations... I don't know how you can say that balance is a lie, honestly, unless you somehow know exactly how Dynamax works and ran all the numbers with every cut pokemon. Which even if you somehow had, many were cut for time and because they had no place in the region. For balance, I can say that it definitely seems like the Chansey line was cut, and with what little we do know about Dynamax, it's safe to say that including them in the game would have definitely been a balance issue, so there's some evidence in favor of that reasoning right there.

I don't know, I don't see the lies.

Pffffffth- pokemon names usually are puns. Especially in Japanese. It's nothing new. XD

Pokémon names have always largely been comprised of portmanteaus, a combination of parts of two or more words. And I don't see the pun in Sandaconda's name. It's just a portmanteau of sand and anaconda.

Also, this may be old news, but I literally just found this out right now. Apparently, the Japanese pokemon fanbase is super pissed at Game Freak for revealing the dex cut at E3 (an American venue) and not telling them about it first. Game Freak is finally facing backlash from their main audience. Hopefully, they'll change.

Are they're no mythicals, or will we not know till the datamine? what about meteordyna?
We won't know about those until a datamine comes out (and that's if they aren't DLC this time) because you can't encounter Mythicals in normal gameplay, they're usually a distribution of some sort.

Change what, exactly? XD Go back to revealing things in Japan before the rest of the world? Doesn't really benefit the series in any way.

Sandaconda is also a pun on Andaconda.

No, it's just a portmanteau. They took 'sand' and 'anaconda' and smashed then together, that's a portmanteau. A pun is a joke exploiting the different possible meanings of a word or the fact that two words sound alike but have different meanings. Thievul's name sounding like 'evil' is a pun, but the fact that it's a combination of 'thief' and 'vul' is a portmanteau.

If your main audience is finally complaining, wouldn't that make you stop and think that you should at least change something? People's number one complaint about this whole dex cut thing was that if only the Japanese audience would get as mad as the rest of us, maybe that will force them to change.

Also, this is my possibly speculation, but give the rarity of gigantamax and how the five start Raids are supposed to be thoughest challenge in the game, I do feel like this feature is what they might’ve considered one of the postgame activities, as well as pushing the mmorpg like features of the game in there of content, which we wouldn’t know yet as I don’t think the leakers could connect with each other.

I’m not sure if there’s the right move or not, but those are my two cents on the subject.

Have you... really looked at pokemon names? Because most of them are like that.

Are they complaining about the dex cut, though, or just where they revealed it? Because if they're not mad about the dex cut itself, then the point is moot.

EA knows perfectly well what the main audience of BioWare games want, and it keeps screwing with them. Not sure if what you said would help (and it’s a really dumb reason to get pissed, I mean really, you don’t care about the Dexit, just that the info was said to others first?)

Andaconda and Sandaconda are basically the same exact thing, just remove the

Perhaps I should have made myself clearer. From what I understand, they're pissed about both. The Japanese fanbase wanted to know the roster from the start was as well.

Yes...I'm perfectly aware that they use puns to name the pokemon all the time. My point was that these are the cheesiest puns out of all of them, and I could not be cringing harder.
