SV Leaks and/or Rumours Thread

  • Meme 3: starters electric grass rock fairy ice
    • This is the big one, because it presumably lists the 8 3-stage lines present in his list. This has a lot of implications for the speculations about the full dex.
    • My guess for the eight are: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Pawmi (Electric), Smoliv (Grass), Salt (Rock), Hammer (Fairy) and Pseudo (Ice).
    • It could also be the Pokedex order for the first 8 lines of Gen 9, but I think the former interpretation is more likely.

I think it’d make a lot of sense if it’s the three stagers, since I doubt we’d get an Ice type that early in the Dex (unless it’s a type gained by a starter or regional bug/bird/rodent, but in that case he’d probably list the type it started with). If I had to guess myself

Starters - … the starters
Electric - Pawmi (already implied by leakers)
Grass - Smoliv (already implied by leakers)
Rock - Is interesting, since we’ve not heard much about Rock-types. I also think it will be “salt” as the most notable Rock-type we’ve had mentioned.
Fairy - I’m actually going to throw a wild guess and say Fidough, or any Fairy that isn’t the hammer lady. Khu described Hammer using a cringe term that refers to child or child-looking character, so I don’t know if that works well with a three-stage line. If it’s Fidough also works into my theory that GameFreak early on is revealing Pokémon that have “more” to reveal, because then they can hype fans about them more without revealing everything (if they have a third evo) or getting more info out of fewer Mons (Lechonk having gender differences apparently). I think this is mostly hopium on my end though!
Ice - Absolutely the pseudo

I only disagree with the fairy-type, because I do think it could be the hammer-pixie.

Gamefreak has a premise of doing 3-stage humanoid 'fairies'; Think of the Gardevoir/Gallade line, the Gothitelle-line as well as Hatterene and Grimmsnarl.

The thing is, both the pixie and the Fidough-line were thought to be 2-liners, and there are no other clear fairy-type Pokémon around.

Edit: On an unrelated note; The bike-Pokémon isn't supposed to be a legendary, correct?

I updated the graphic. I think the 3 stages fairy type is Fidough. If I'm not wrong Kaka said the Fairy chibi evolves just once.

I also think it's better that the Pepper and the Bird are not 3 stages lines. Otherwise, on a total of 8 three stages lines, 3 lines would be Fire types, 3 lines would be Electric types and 3 lines would be Grass types. At least now there's more diversity (not counting that both Fidough and Salt could be dual types).
About the birds not being all Flying types, I guess this refers to the Parakeet. We only have four bird pokémon: Electric Bird, Flamingo, Ostrich and Parakeet. However, the regional bird is always Flying type, the Flamingo is confirmed to be Flying type by Kaka and we don't need khu to discover that an ostrich does not fly.[/SPOILER]

I suspect that the non-flying bird pokemon is "Ootori", which is literally Japanese for "Big Bird". When Khu teased the Parakeet Pokemon himself, he tagged it with "HM02", suggesting that its a Flying-Type. However, he could have also been teasing that it can learn fly despite not being a Flying-Type.

The last "???" you have in your graphic is "Nezumi", which Khu teased shortly after Ootori. "Nezumi" is Japanese for Rat, so that's probably the regional rodent. Specifically, it could be an Opossum, as Khu tagged it with "Parent-Child-Bond" in Chinese, and Opossums are known to carry their children around on their backs.

Okok.
So, if the Opossum exists, what about the Lemur? Does It exists too or am I missing something?

Yup, Lemur exists as well, its a separate Pokemon from the Opossum. Khu said that he has now leaked/hinted at every single Pokemon line from the dex so far, so once Opossum is added, your graphic should be completed as far as the different lines are concerned.

EDIT: Here is my own chart for reference, I think I have all the hints included for this version.

It makes more sense for Hammer or Salt to be the 3 stage mon imo.

There's 3 dog lines so why would one be 3 stage while the other 2? (Also why so many dog lines anyway)

The Ayé-Ayé = the lemur.

Btw, It's almost certain the hammer pokemon is part Fighting. Khu said it's the ace of one of the E4. We know there's no Fairy E4 memeber so Fighting is most likely its secondary type (if the big hammer alone is not enough evidence )

I would love for the Hammer Pokemon to be part Fighting! However, some of the speculation for the Elite 4 typings suggests that one of them could be a Steel specialist, which I think fits the Hammer Pokemon equally well. Since the leakers haven't directly confirmed one way or the other, I'm leaving my sheet blank for now. I hope its Fighting though, since that's a type-combo we haven't seen yet.

My personal prediction is that the ootori is the three stage mon and it will be fire/fairy.

I know kaka could have gotten it wrong that there was a fire type that evolved twice, but a fire/ fairy dual type would make them both right and be super cool since we don't have one. Plus fairy is sometimes used in place of flying as with cutiefly.

I mean it’s very possible that they’re not all cabins lupis familiarias (domestic dog). But even if they are, dogs are an extremely versatile species in terms of appearance, behaviour, and ability due to human influence. Also Pokémon are basically pets, and cats and dogs are the posterboys for pets. Heck, Gen 2 had 3 dog lines.

I think the fact there’s two other dog lines is a pretty good reason for Fidough to get a third evo - it sets it apart, just like how Smeargle is a single stager unlike Granbull and Houndoom. But as I’ve already said this is just massive hopium on my end because I’m a Fidough fanatic.

If I'm not wrong the E4 types are
Dragon, Ground, Fighting and Flying
Where does the Steel rumor come from?

There was someone on Twitter analyzing the Gym Leader types together with some other picture hint from Kaka, and it arrived at Dragon, Ground, Flying, and Steel for the Elite Four. The remaining types were apparently linked to the Flags on the map (Dark, Fire, Poison, Fairy, Fighting).

I was convinced that the Fighting E4 was basically confirmed being
the girl dressed in black with Hariyama seen in the trailer
