SV Leaks and/or Rumours Thread

Yup. It also seems like a Fire or Ground type is mandatory on the team in order to properly beat it, since Fighting isn't gonna cut it.

Dragon being an Elite 4 type is interesting, since that means there either isn't a proper champion (Which makes sense with the multiple people being champions thing), or the real champion is multi type (Which perfectly falls in line with every champion post-Steven, with the only outlier being Iris).
Why does the Dragon E4 member mean that there's no proper champion or a type specialist champion?
Hoenn had a Dragon E4 and a Steel Champion.

Best not to hype too much, but I have to say I found it a weird decision to delay SV trailer for the closing ceremony.

But I also believe that maybe we can draw some conclusions from this. I think it would fit much better for a closing ceremony if they showed a more "visual-heavy" and exciting trailer rather than a more "explanatory-ish" trailer as was the one for SwSh/2019 opening ceremony. I don't think it means it necessarily will be bigger, I don't think it will, but rather presents more exciting content than just some items and in a different way. Kinda like this one for TCG.

I'm not really expecting a huge trailer since they've never had larger trailers at Worlds. Its highly possible we might see a new Pokemon though, considering we have had new Pokemon revealed at Worlds before. It would be nice if they show off something like one of the cross gen evolutions. Maybe show off one, then save the other 4 for players to discover when they play.

Or show one of the Tauros forms.

I think for gen 7 at Worlds they announced Crabrawler on top of the first english reveal for Sandygast, Pallossand and Stufful. (I think)

So, that would be my main reasoning for why I think we could see more than one new Pokemon revealed here. We've technically had more than one new Pokemon shown off before at Worlds.

To be fair, that year's PWC trailer revealed Crabrawler only. It was the video I posted just a few pages back, it was a different video than the trailer we had a few days after (where Crabrawler reappeared) and it was shown exclusively during the PWC opening ceremony. Then, a few days later, we had another trailer on Youtube with the "re-show" of Crabrawler along with 3 other Pokémon, but those also had already been presented through CoroCoro at time iirc, so it was just like an "officialization" of those 4 to the general public.

And well, I didn't mean to say that now I believe we're going to have a longer trailer. To be honest, for it being "pushed" to the closing ceremony, I guess it will be shorter. I was talking about its content and how it will be presented.

Whatever it is, even if it's short, I just hope it's something exciting. And that from then on the marketing team finally start working harder and that the SV pre-release hype season finally kicks off. Because I have to say that so far this has been the worst generation starter game pre-release season ever. They weren't even able to make a cool and exciting trailer like SwSh's Brand New World.
And if it wasn't for Kaka, who isn't even TPC, it would be even worse and that says a lot.

Yeah, TPCI has done a pretty horrible job with the marketing for SV. They're so afraid of revealing too much after Sun and Moon, but they've gone from one extreme to another. I mean the reveal was fine, but they had so little in June and then completely skipped out on giving us a trailer in July. The August trailer was good, but still, they could have shown off a little more Pokemon. We're going to have 105 new Pokemon. They can afford to show a little bit more. If it wasn't for Kaka, this pre-launch news/leak cycle would have been the worst.

Apparently, someone on 4chan claims Kaka said that the reason for limited customization is partially due to the reflections present in Tera Raid Battles:

Kaka says the reason for the limited character customization and no skirts is because of all the reflections in the Tera Raid Battles. I believe it lol
Reasons for limited character customization: There is a space of crystal that looks like a mirror maze on the map, which prevents some user's nasty behavior and unexpected accidents that can occur when a character is dressed in a skirt, so it's all unified into school uniform.

Take this with a grain of salt.

EDIT: It’s apparently a confirmed Tweet.

Customization didn't stop them from having that cave in XY. So I kind of doubt it.

Personally, I'd rather the floor not be shiny then having no customization. Other than that, they could have at least kept the skorts from SwSh. I mean they were a better idea than actual short skirts anyway.

I think the Tera Raid Battles explanation may be more of Kaka's own speculation on the matter rather than an official reason. They could easily resolve it by using the Smash Bros. method of using a black void if it was that big of a problem.

This has been brought up by others already, I feel that the more likely reasoning is to prevent clipping or glitches when the player rides Koraidon and Miraidon.

In Pokemon Legends Arceus, the first time we were allowed to use Ride Pokemon without a Riding Suit, all clothing options for the player's lower body were some form of shorts or slacks, no skirts or skirt-type bottoms. Its likely that the Riding Suit from SM was their original solution to dodge the issue, but now that the Riding Suit has seemingly been scrapped, its possible they've shifted to limiting the variety of clothing options to ones that are less likely to clip or glitch.

I would have come to the opposite conclusion, though. Being pushed to the end of the event makes me think it would be bigger.

I guess ultimately the length probably isn't affected by whether it's shown off at the start or the end though.

Apparently, someone on 4chan claims Kaka said that the reason for limited customization is partially due to the reflections present in Tera Raid Battles:

I can understand the skirts then but it really doesn't explain the limited customization beyond that. (and as UnownUser said there's no reason why they couldn't have just used a black void, so even this explanation is suspect)

It stills seems like they choose the wrong thing to prioritize, though. I don't think anyone would have been complaining that the floor wasn't shiny enough.

Why can't GameFreak do what Hoyoverse/Genshin Impact does?

For example, they put plain petticoat shorts/pants/drawers on the main character who wears a dress (the Traveler Twin Girl - her name escapes me!)

I know zero about 3D models and game development haha! Maybe the skirt physics were causing janky issues whenever the player was riding Koraidon/Miraidon and they had to scrap it? Who knows!

Well, in S/S the player wears a special suite when riding the bike, so It was not that difficult to do the same for Koraidon and Miraidon.
I hope trainer customization will come back after the League or after you graduate at the Academy.

Kaka daily update:
  • The worm is just Steel.
  • The Dogs are all single type (sadly).
  • The dolphin is water type (unclear if dual type).
  • Smoliv remains normal/grass.
  • The icicles pokemon is actually the pseudo legendary.
  • The fish is a hake fish.
  • The Tumbleweed is grass type (unclear If dual type).
  • The most difficult pokemon to get is the evolution of Primeape.
  • To get the items needed to evolve the fire split pokemon you have to defeat 10 sinistea/bronzor (maybe the evolutions will be fire/ghost and fire/steel).
  • Paradox pokemon don't evolve (I think we knew this already).
  • Apparently you can get 2 Miraidon or Koraidon. The battle form is unlocked after the main story while different riding forms are unlocked during the gameplay like in Legends

From the looks of it, that isn't happening. I don't expect trainer customization to appear in a major capacity ever again.
