I'm honestly just glad to see two Kalos mons (or line in Goodras case) get new stuff. Mostly sense it was my first game so nostalgia. One of them is my favorite Pokémon (Goodra) and another is a mon I had in my first gen 6 team (Avalugg). One weird thing about this though is that the potentiality of a regional form of a gen 7 Pokémon might be a gen or two closer than we realized.

I don't think it's even going to be that strict. Probably more like "as long as it's not the most current Gen," since we do have dex cuts and if something from the most recent previous generation doesn't fit in the current one but they get the idea for a variant... nothing stopping them from going for it.

Heck, if they introduced a new pokemon and a regional variant in a remake within the same generation, would not surprise me at this point. Pokemon has been making a hell of a point of breaking every rule fans think of (except the fire-type zodiac thing, but I feel like that's been more of a reverse where they didn't start out doing it but then decided "oh yeah, what a funny coincidence, hey that'll make great merch one day, let's commit to that one.")

Copperajah is pretty much an Indian elephant, but they did nothing to tie it to Raichu. Color me uninterested in another attempt.

And I am not surprised that he finds the game boring, but it does seem to make up for it in parts. The less Arceus, the better.

His image riddles were supposed to have covered all 17 variants and 7 new pokemon excluding the ones that were officially revealed so I am pretty wtf at this new info seeing as nothing so far has hinted at anything elephant-related... and it sounds pretty story-related too. I wonder if it will actually be an elephant or if they're going to change what it is that Raichu and Gastly can take down for future pokedex entries.

But as far as it being easy to get bored in Legends- that's been every main series game since Gold for me, so the promise of fresh new single player features (and not more stuff for multiplayer to be locked behind their stupid online subscription paywall) makes me hopeful.

Not really. For a game called Legends: Arceus, I expect a deep dive into its lore.

"Hardcore" might be promising depending on what exactly they mean.
"Grinding" is what I expected based off the Pokédex missions we've seen.

Ah no, I'm pretty sure it's referring to the Indian elephant, not Raichu. We're not "finally" getting Raichu. It makes more sense if we're finally getting something equivalent to an Indian elephant that Raichu is able to faint.

I don't really get the Copperajah bit. It doesn't seem to match with the other leaks we've been given, nor does it match the premise of the Hisui region.

January can't come soon enough. I still need to see more to be convinced to buy it. Those rumoured regional evolutions might pull me over.

Wouldn't match the time period at all, but apparently Japan's oldest female elephant passed away in Hokkaido last year-

That's indeed a probable scenario; No specific new form, but just an easter-egg of some sorts.

We'll see.

Agreed. Copperajah is Gen 8, and Donphan is much older.
