Well, I think we won't have to wait too long for this game to leak again. Someone got their hands on enough copies to put it on eBay (that or it's a scam).

I saw some people thinking that Volo was going to turn out to be Arceus so someone probably lowkey believes this.

Wouldn't strike me any more odd than the box mascots' lack of presence in most of the other games. Only difference this time would be that they slapped Arceus's name on the box instead of its face.

I find a number of mascots more involved with their games than the two aspects I & you mentioned, personally; Johto and Kalos are where they're more or less only interacted with in an isolated battle.

I do wonder why Arceus is sending Akari/Rei to Hisui?
Also, if they are from modern Kalos, why do their names sound like they would belong more in Hisui than modern Kalos?

I find a number of mascots more involved with their games than the two aspects I & you mentioned, personally; Johto and Kalos are where they're more or less only interacted with in an isolated battle.

And even then, Johto's legend was only forced in the remakes. You could ignore the Rainbow/Silver Wing you get from the Radio Tower in the original games.

I can see them having amnesia. Especially if the way Arceus sends them to Hisui is through an Ultra Wormhole. If I recall, there is the possibility of someone who falls through one to lose their memory.

And yes, the wormhole takes their memory and they adopt new names.

Or: they are indeed new characters (maybe even from Kalos) but they never leave Hisui and go on to become ancestors to the Lucas/Dawn we know.

Did- did you look him up or did you somehow manage to remember the name of Mohn of all characters, props if so.
But yeah, I'm leaning towards the Amnesia avenue, probably regains their memories by the end but chooses to stay in the past.

Considering how the protags look like the DP protags, if they really are from Kalos, maybe their family moved back to Sinnoh from Kalos and this game just takes the idea of rediscovering your heritage to an extreme.

Well, Arceus is kind of de facto omnipresent by virtue of being god of the region, so they probably won't let us forget it exists during most of the game but I could see us still not actually directly encountering it again until the end anyway. Seems like it'd be a very godmon thing to do.

Classic space time loop. They technically come into existence after Lucas and Dawn, but must always be sent to the past in order to not mess up the timeline and ensure Lucas/Dawn and their ancestors are still all born.

I think you're actually right that they may be Lucas/Dawn. The opposite gender character that is present is your ancestor. It would fit with this hint-

I think you're actually right that they may be Lucas/Dawn. The opposite gender character that is present is your ancestor. It would fit with this hint-

Just hoping they aren't straight up the same Lucas/Dawn (I will be very minorly irritated over the sudden hair color change for dawn if it was). That also begs the question of how Rowans future assistant happens to look just like Lucas/Dawn's ancestor. Unless they are related to one another and didnt realise it.

He needs a skilled trainer which at the time, is a foreign concept in Hisui.
