Kathrin sighed. "Fine, I'll start. Which one should I tell?" She asked the boys.

((Seph, Jer, and Ell commentating while Kat tries to tell a story. :D))

".......Oh."

"Not that one." Kathrin said firmly, "She's a fairytale newbie; we'll save the more morbid ones for later. We need a nice story."

"So... I probably shouldn't count the greek myths... yeah my dads an archeologist I didn't really get many of those. I can name all the gods of Roman, Mayan, and Egyption mythos though."

Kathrin groaned. "For Demeter's sake! Both of you are useless, I'll think of one myself."

She was silent for a minute. "Beauty And The Beast." She decided finally.

"Not in the same way as like Hansel and Gretle. Beauty and the Beast is a very long story where you could skip half of it to make it like a fairy tale other wise its still just a piece of fiction."

"Okay. So, Once-Upon-A-Time, there was a man who had three daughters."

"Did they have names?" I asked.

"The oldest two's aren't mentioned, but the youngest girl was so lovely that everyone called her Beauty."

"Her name was Beauty?"

"Well, in French, that translates to Belle, which is an actual name."

"Okay, then let's call her Belle."

"Fine. Belle's father had once been fairly wealthy, but recen-"

"Wait!"

Kathrin sighed. "What?"

"Where's the Mama?"

"She's never mentioned, so it's assumed she's dead."

".......Oh."

"So anyway, they'd been rich, but recently Belle's father had lost all his ships in a storm, and the family's fortunes had been lost. The older two daughters sat-around and moped. They whined about not having luxuries and berated their father for losing his ships. Belle, however, knew that her father felt horrible about it already, and said nothing. She also did all the housework the servants used to do, while her sisters sat in chairs and watched while they whined."

"Typical." Seph said, but quickly added, "of the time period. Women only had those as choices really."

Kathrin rolled her eyes and continued. "One day, the father got a note saying that a lone ship had come back to port and that it might be his, so he'd better come and maybe claim it."

"So they're rich again?"

"Possibly. So before he left, the father asked each of his daughters what they would like him to bring back for her. The oldest asked for a wardrobe full of fancy dresses. The second-oldest asked for a chest full of jewels. And when he asked Belle, she simply said, 'I'd like a rose, please.'

"A rose?"

"Yes."

"Wow."

"So the father set-off to the port, but when he got there, it turned-out that the ship wasn't his after-all and he had to go home just as poor as he left it."

"That sucks!"
