Welcome to the eleventh installment in the Lost Tower Forum's new weekly series of polls!

Centered around the older installments of the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott, and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

With that out of the way, here is the poll: Favourite Kanto Gym Design? as suggested by Chimchar15. Kanto was the first region, and thus, had the first gyms. Although there were simplistic at first, through FireRed/LeafGreen and HeartGold/SoulSilver they have slowly picked themselves up - but which is your favourite?

They all feel so bland nowadays, but Cinnabar Island's gym is my favourite. No annoying puzzle, like the Vermillion and Saffron gyms had, just quizzes to answer and trainers to battle. Rather than picking one, I always do both.

It was a tie-up between Saffron and Veridian for me. Saffron is cool, and it would of won if they didn't give out the wall design some way every time. But Veridian wins for being for colorful and fast paced!(I'm going by the HG/SS version.)

Brock's wins for me believe it or not. Nice and simple, none of this jumping on dragon's head nonsense. plus if u wanted u could even go around the one trainer and go straight to the gym leader. how awesome is that?

I'll judge it based on HGSS

The poison gym was my fav design cuz of the invisible walls. It's challenging cuz we can't see what's blocking us. Also, Janine did a pretty good job disguising all her trainers.

Second goes to Misty's swimming pool and Blue's spin tiles.

All the others are in third except for Brock. Way too plain.

Kanto has the worst gyms overall, in my oppinion.

In the first generation, I'd say Celadon. There's a mandatory trainer battle, and an skippable one. It's a good introduction to choosing your fights, and better than the emptyness of Pewter.

The rest just don't have... any real puzzle. Except for Cinnabar and Viridian, but Cinnabar's questions have the problem of becoming irrelevant after the first playthrough and giving you the chance of skipping straight to Blaine.
As for Viridian... the dungeon-ish layout is very nice and incorporates the trainer-dodging pretty well...

... but the spinning tiles are so SLOW in the first games! Furthemore, the HGSS layout ditches the large map and just makes a tile maze, which places it far behind other ones.

Though the FRLG version is the best, so I'll say that.

I love fuschia city's gym for the hidden clefairy. I never noticed it when I played (how could I?) but now I can appreciate their sneakiness of putting that in there

You are mistaking it for Goldenrod's.
Fuschia is the one with "invisible" walls (that are actually visible in all games except HGSS, if you pay enough attention to the floor tiles)

Yes. You are correct. Minus one pokemon point for me.

But I am still happy with my choice. Invisible walls are awesome as well.

Brock's gym! :D Nice and simple. It was probably the nostalgic look of the gym that made me like it so much.

None of Kanto Gyms are that great, but I kinda liked Celadon Gym.

Cinnabar. I liked the fact that it's trivia questions. I always answered wrong to get the battles though.

Close second is Fuschia, with the invisible walls and the army of Janines and whatnot.
