Welcome to the ninth installment in the Lost Tower Forum's new weekly series of polls!

Centered around the older installments of the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott, and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

With that out of the way, here is the poll: Who is your favourite Hoenn starter? Is it the leafy lizard Treecko, the firey, fluffy Torchic or the so I herd u liek Mudkipz?

Sceptile is my favorite Hoenn starter for his design and his movepool; I just wish he had Dragon as a secondary typing (he wouldn't be too overpowered with its 4x weakness to ice).

All three are great, probably the best set of starters. This is a very difficult choice... Though Torchic and its line is the most dangerous when they have their DW ability, the Treecko Line gets my vote. Very high speed and a large movepool make it great for playing mind games with your opponent.

Treecko for the base stage, but Swampert for the final stages.

Going with Mudkip since it's the most useful to me.

I used Torchic in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. I found it to be a great offensive Pokemon at the time, when it evolved into Blaziken and even more so now with it's DW ability (Speed Boost).

I have used Sceptile and Swampert and would say that Sceptile would be my second favourite.

I've used them all, and I found Mudkip to be the best of the three. Treecko is a close second though.

This was actually a tough decision. Just based on looks, I'd have to say Torchic. Having a cute fluffy chick on your team is cool! But for all around coverage against the Gym Leaders, Mudkip is the way to go, with great typing AND Ice Beam to stop its only weakness, Grass.

My mouse hovered over Treeko and Torchic cuz I love them both.

But when I remember how I played through the games, I have to say Treeko had been the most useful. Epic speed for a grass-type XDD So I chose him.

I have always loved the Treecko line, so I definitely voted for the Grass Type.

Design, Movepool, usefulness in game: The Treeko line dominates.

Blaziken in-game. Sceptile is probably cooler, but Blaziken is much more useful.

Even before Mudkip got popular with that meme, I had always liked the mud fish Pokemon and its design. It really did look unique when I first saw it (and still is!).
