Question about Lightning Yellow

Since the original show immediately jumps to Vermilion City after the lighthouse episode, I'm wondering if it would be worth expanding the way to Vermilion, or expanding Vermilion City itself.

So should I:

--expand the way to Vermilion City (using some more places from real Japan going from real world Cerulean City to Yokohama, which Vermilion City is mostly based on)
--expand Vermilion City itself (using some parodies of real places in Yokohama to build out Vermilion, instead of jumping to Lt. Surge right away.
--expand both the way there and the city itself.
--keep "Electric Shock Showdown" as is

Well, You could have some episodes that take place before 'Electric Shock Showdown' because weren't they lost for like a week before they got to Vermillion? You could also expand and do more with the city, since we barely got to see any of it.

@Greninjaman

According to the Bulbapedia synopsis, it took the Trio two weeks to reach Vermilion. So my thinking is--what were they doing in those two weeks? (using some parodies of places along the route to Yokohama to liven up the route)

I would mark these episodes as "Traveling interludes" to indicate these are all new for the story.

Pokemon Fantasy TCG Idea (inspired by the upcoming Disney TCG Lorcana)

The latest hit craze in the Pokeworld is the TCG "Sparkles and Shadows". Players play the role of Jewelmages, magic users attuned to jewels (what elementals are called). According to the game's lore, not all Jewelmages are noble--some have fallen to the darkness sweeping the fantasy world (which fans get to see come alive in comics and a smash hit TV show). So far, there are two expansions (with a third on the way) in addition to the base set.

Ash and the gang have fallen in love with the colorful world, beautiful characters, and interesting power names, as well as the easy to learn (as it has many similarities to the Pokemon TCG) but hard to master gameplay. After playing casually for a while, the group believes they are ready to try a competition, and enter the Theme Deck division (for players that prefer to use ready made decks) of a local competition, with a shot at qualifying for the regional, and then the world championships.

Can Ash and the gang beat the odds and win it all using ready made decks? Or will these jewels lose their sparkle before they even get a chance to shine?

Ancient DLC Story Idea (inspired by SV DLC wave 1, the Teal Mask)

Along with visitors from all across the Pokeworld, students from all of Europa's best schools came to visit when Emperor Divine Dragon opened Waku to the world after many years of turmoil. Among these were the students of the Naranja Academy of Paldea. The plan was to take the students on a grand tour of Waku--from the warm and lush beaches of Tenmei (which would eventually become modern day Houen) to the majestic mountains of Hisui in the north (which would become the modern day Shinou).

In the days leading up to the trip, the students were told to choose a martial title for themselves, so they would better fit with the locals. Best friends Juliana and Nemona had no trouble picking titles--Nemona chose Azure Flower, and Juliana chose Little Spring.

At first, the trip was uneventful, but as they traveled the ancient roads of Waku, the students were both warned about yokai and told of the Eight Spirits--eight martial artists so powerful, they were revered as gods. When they asked their teacher about them, they were told the Eight Spirits were Ruby Phoenix, Sapphire Dragon, Emerald Raikou, Golden Delphox, Jade Beautifly, Pearl Deerling, Amethyst Braviary, and Garnet Mightyena. Juliana and Nemona initially thought nothing of it as they filed the titles away in their memories, but when some forest exploration during some free time turned terrifying, Juliana and Nemona were rescued by Amethyst Braviary--and were even more surprised that when they asked their rescuer who she was, she spoke to them in Paldean--Una amiga--yo soy una amiga. (A friend--I'm a friend)

Juliana told Amethyst Braviary everything, and Amethyst Braviary took Juliana and Nemona to the Verdant Grove--the Eight Spirits' secret hideaway. They were welcomed by the Spirits, and told that they and their fellow students were all in grave danger thanks to evil on the move in the martial world--but they were assured that on their race to gather the eight jewels said to be a part of a magical mask, they would get to see much more of Waku than their teacher ever planned!

What wonders and terrors await Juliana and Nemona on their journey alongside the Eight Spirits? Can they manage to unite the gems, and figure out the secret of the teal mask?

Modern DLC Story Idea (inspired by SV DLC wave 1, the Teal Mask)

At first, Liko, Juliana, and Nemona's summer vacation to Waku was supposed to be a grand adventure in the land where tradition and the future existed hand in hand. Not surprisingly, Roy was alongside Ash, Misty, Brock, Serena, May, and Dawn to welcome the girls to the airport.

For a while, Liko, Juliana, and Nemona saw both sights every visitor to Waku had to see, and some hidden gems off the beaten path. Historic post stations, temples, and dojos rubbed shoulders with modern skyscrapers, video games, anime, and rollercoasters--and Liko never wanted it to end.

But no one expected Team Rocket to take an interest in Liko's heart necklace as the key to their latest plot--and the key to stopping them were tales of the ancient Eight Spirits--phoenix, dragon, Raikou, Delphox, Beautifly, Deerling, Braviary, and Mightyena--and at eight specific temples, one of the group would awaken powers worthy of the spirit in their heart.

Can Liko's new power of the Braviary help her new Wakunese friends stop Team Rocket before they abuse the powers of an ancient mask, bringing yokai to the modern day?

Modern Pokemon Theaterverse Idea (an update of an old idea inspired by the upcoming theater anime World Dai Star)

It is no secret that Paldea has a long and proud history onstage. So when Ash, Misty, Brock, Serena, May, Dawn, Liko, and Roy, alongside Juliana and Nemona, discovered an abandoned yet pristine theater in Mesagoza's west district, Nemona wondered why such a beautiful theater had been abandoned, and yet it was untouched by time.

Imagine the group's surprise when Ash's Meloetta Melody appeared to them, saying that the spirits of the stage kept the theater in its pristine state--and they were waiting for a new company to give the theater a name--and performances--once more.

Juliana suggested naming the theater the Celestial Theater, and almost immediately, light returned to the old theater--the lobby reopened to welcome theater fans of all ages, programs for an unspecified play were printed, an unseen crew was checking to be sure that all the lights, sound and effects were in order, an unseen orchestra was tuning in the pit--all that remained were some performers to put on a play.

Liko then brought up an important point--while ten actors was plenty for some plays, others would require a cast of hundreds, if not thousands--so where would they get those other actors?

Nemona assured Liko that she had an idea--and rallied the theater departments of both Naranja and Uva academies to come help form a company. The teachers loved Nemona's idea, and sent over some of their best students to help out.

Before long, the group had enough actors and crew from both academies--and some excited volunteers from Paldea and elsewhere--to form nine troupes. The group, some of their best friends, Nemona, and Juliana would be part of the Sol Troupe, with the other troupes being the Gaia Troupe, the Mars Troupe, the Venus Troupe, the Neptune Troupe, the Mercury Troupe, the Jupiter Troupe, the Saturn Troupe, and the Luna Troupe, in keeping with the "celestial" theme.

What wonders and surprises meet Ash and the gang as they work to perform some of the best shows in the Pokeworld? Can they make their new theater one of the best in the Pokeworld?

In Universe Martial Drama Idea (prompted by a generator)

"The Tale of Little Golden Delphox" is a heartwarming martial drama revolving around the Eight Spirits as kids--and Little Golden Delphox's rise to becoming the Spirit of Magical Cleverness. Fans say that the show is at times funny, at times exciting, and at times heartwarming--and seeing the kids' transformation into the legendary Eight Spirits (and potentially seeing them as adults in the epilogue) makes the show worth watching. But with consistently high ratings, the show is not ending anytime soon.

The show is episodic in nature, but every episode does have a structure:

--The kids ask Arceus if they can explore the mortal realm (or are already present there when the episode begins. Arceus agrees, and gives the kids a prayer to answer.
--The kids find whoever sent the prayer to heaven
--The kids learn of a problem in the area
--The kids try to solve the problem, with help from other divine entities.
--The kids end up solving the problem or answering the prayer, which they then report to Arceus.

The show is very popular with audiences of all ages, and it is not unheard of for families in Waku to watch it together. Home video, comics (which tell all new stories of the Little Eight Spirits), toys, and even games (both video and board) are available. While the show hasn't been dubbed, it is available on Pokeflix with appropriate subtitles, and available for free (with appropriate subs) on MyTube in many regions.

The group loves this show--Ash religiously watches the show with his family and Serena (plus Chance and Elena, if they are visiting. Sometimes Gary will come over to watch, as well.) Liko and Roy subscribe to the official channel, and get notifications when a new Paldean sub is available, Misty watches the show with her sisters (Little Sapphire Dragon is her favorite), Brock watches the show with his family each week (the kids consider the show the start of the weekend, since it comes on Friday nights, with an encore on Saturday morning), May and Dawn also watch the show with their families, as well.

Modern Magical Hero Idea (inspired by Sailor Moon and Pokemon Legends: Arceus)

Across Wakunese culture through the ages, none have captured the imagination quite like the Eight Spirits--eight martial artists so powerful, many believed them to be gods. But as no one knew for sure if they were real people or not, their legend still lives on on the page, on the stage, on the screen, and in the digital realm.

But little does anyone know that the Eight Spirits are in fact gods--and when the world needs their help the most, they will awaken inside eight chosen people. At first glance, the chosen heroes may look like any other person, but depending on the Spirit sleeping in their heart, they may have interests and abilities the Spirit was said to have. (so the bearer of Ruby Phoenix would have skill in playing flute, for example).

When the time comes for the Spirit to awaken, the kanji of the Spirit appears on the person's hand, allowing them to temporarily transform into the Spirit to fight off evil. To invoke the transformation, the Spirit's holder calls a phrase having to do with their Spirit and their innate elemental (eg. "I call upon the phoenix flame!", for example.)

It is said that once Ruby Phoenix awakens, the other seven Spirit holders will be drawn to them, uniting the Eight Spirits once more.

So when the rogue time traveler Volo arrived in the present Pokemon world, he became the mystic Kurobuchi, summoning a variety of yokai and monsters no one had ever seen before. But little did he know that the Eight Spirits also existed in the present...and the legendary hero Ash held the Spirit Ruby Phoenix!

Just as the promise of the Spirits foretold, the other seven Spirits ended up being drawn to Ash--and they turned out to be some of his closest friends!

Can Ash and the gang use their newfound Spirit powers to defeat Volo's current form of Kurobuchi, and drive him back to the gap between dimensions?

Young Eight Spirits Idea (an idea exploring an ancient Pokeworld)

Long ago, when Arceus was creating the world, He knew the world He had made would eventually be attacked by evil. So He decided to create a group of guardians that would both protect the world and teach others how to protect what was good and pure.

So he took eight jewels from the treasury of heaven, and infused each of them with a spirit of a Pokemon, creating eight divine children that would one day grow up to be the legendary Eight Spirits revered across Waku. But since they were young, Arceus just affectionately called them the Little Eight Spirits.

--Little Ruby Phoenix was born from a ruby infused with the power of Moltres. He was a very brave and confident spirit, as good with a flute as he was with a sword. Naturally curious, he ended up learning how to tap into thunder abilities after befriending a Pikachu companion. Arceus just assured him this was normal, as fire and thunder were related powers. Unafraid of even the strongest yokai, he was always up for an adventure, and proved a leader even at a young age.

--Little Sapphire Dragon was born from a sapphire infused with the power of Gyarados. A fierce and agile warrior, she sometimes argued with Ruby Phoenix, but only because she feared a risk to life and limb. Her dragon arts inspired Arceus to give her a pair of twin blades that would grow with her as she grew that reflected her dual innate powers--Sapphire was infused with water, and Marine was infused with ice. Those who would do evil learned very quickly to never provoke the little dragon!

--Little Emerald Raikou was born from an emerald infused with the power of Raikou. He proved to be an enthusiast of the fine arts as well as martial arts, listening as Arceus told him tales of great heroes. Music was his divine heartbeat, so he was never without the beautiful harp Arceus made for him. All who heard him play and sing raved of his skill. But this Raikou could roar as well as sing, channeling his voice into magical song. His weapon of choice was the bow--and even at a young age, some said he never missed a shot.

--Little Golden Delphox was born from a gold ingot infused with the power of Delphox. She bonded very quickly with Ruby Phoenix, so much so that they were never too far apart from each other. Filled with an intense zest for life, her joyous and playful light was infused with the courage and resolve of a phoenix's fire--when she laughed the world laughed with her, and she usually had a parting shot for any opponent.

--Little Jade Beautifly was born from a green jade infused with the power of Beautifly. She was an elegant actor and dancer, often roping the other Little Spirits into plays of her own. But in addition to the ribbon and the fan, she fought with the sword, making for a fighting style as beautiful as it was powerful. She was innately attuned to the wind and nature, but also the sun's purest light.

--Little Pearl Deerling was born from a pearl infused with the power of Deerling. Since Arceus created her on the night of a full moon, granting the innate power of the cosmos itself. She proved to be as good with the staff as she was with magic and the sacred bow--and learned the powers of water and ice after befriending a lost Piplup. But even though Deerling is typically a peaceful Pokemon, Little Pearl Deerling proved that Deerling could and was willing to fight if threatened.

--Little Amethyst Braviary was born from an amethyst infused with the power of Braviary. Since Arceus infused her heart with some of His great love, he granted her an enchanted green heart necklace that could never be broken, which she always wore. The heart necklace granted her the free spirit of the wind, the beauty and promise of the winter snow, and a deep love for all creation. Like her fellow spirit Little Jade Beautifly, she too was a skilled dancer, channeling the very elements into her sacred dance.

--Little Garnet Mightyena was born from a garnet infused with the power of Mightyena. Very agile and strong, he preferred to fight unarmed, battling with the fury of a summer thunderstorm if evil ever threatened. As Mightyena was seen as a sacred guardian, he had a heart for those who were lost, and standing up for the oppressed and downtrodden.

Together, these young eight heroes embarked on an epic journey through the mortal realm, learning all they could, battling evil in any form it presented itself, and growing into the legendary gods they would one day become...

Ancient Angel Idea (inspired by early Bleach and Final Fantasy 7)

In an alternate Pokeworld from the one we know, Ash and his companions, as well as young heroes Liko and Roy, ascended to godhood after Arceus heard of their great deeds on the mortal realm. But life in heaven is no paradise--gods must still watch over and protect the mortal realm, and defend the heavenly realm from demonic attacks.

While Ash and the gang may look like their normal appearances that we know and love in the mortal realm, the one major clue that they are gods are the kanji of one of the mythological Eight Spirits on their hands (phoenix, dragon, Raikou, Delphox, Beautifly, Deerling, Braviary, and Mightyena) While their Divine Mark (as this is called) is not visible to human eyes, those with high spiritual power can see it.

Just as our heroes are modern day counterparts of the Eight Spirits, yokai still roam Waku and beyond, as well as other kinds of demonic creatures. It's up to our heroes to figure out why these ancient creatures are still roaming in the modern day, and end the threat to every era...

Caravan of Fantasy Actors Idea (a rework of an earlier idea inspired by Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles)

In a fantastic Paldea far from the one we know, caravans of actors criss-cross the land, bringing joy and laughter to all they visit. In addition to native Paldean troupes, foreign troupes do likewise, as part of sharing their culture with the people. When the troupe's play goes over well with an audience, they receive a pearl as a reward for a good show, If a troupe collects enough pearls, and brings them to the Grand Shrine in Sagrada, it is said something amazing will happen.

But to a group of foreign born visitors and some native Paldeans, the newly created Iris Troupe has another reason to be collecting pearls--in the distant past, an evil king released four evil gods. To prevent all out war in the land, they were sealed with pearls--much like what theater troupes receive when their show goes over well. But these Pearls of Ruin have the opposite effect--removing one seal from one of the four Gods of Ruin's prison. To prevent this, troupes carry a sacred Irida Pearl to cleanse a Pearl of Ruin--leaving it as a normal everyday pearl.

Can our heroes make it to Sagrada safely, and at the same time prevent the Gods of Ruin from being unleashed once more?

Caravan Pilgrimage Idea (inspired by Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and the real world Camino de Santiago)

In a fantastic Paldea far from the one we know, it is a custom and tradition for every resident to travel to the beautiful city of Sagrada once a year, and offer a basket of pearls and a prayer of peace to Arceus. But this is more than a leisurely trip across the region--many of Paldea's historic shrines house a cloister of trials, and worthy travelers (as those on this pilgrimage are called) must pass a trial in order to earn a pearl for their basket. Exactly how many pearls one should offer Arceus is up to each caravan--some will offer as few as ten, and some will offer many baskets filled with hundreds or even thousands of pearls. But it is generally agreed that a caravan should offer at least one full basket of pearls to Arceus. For many in Paldea, the trip to Sagrada is a coming of age ritual. Even foreigners will often join the traveler caravans, as it is a good way to see the entire region, and many of its natural and man made treasures.

This year, best friends Juliana and Nemona are making the long trip to Sagrada from the small village of Cucharico, and have invited Ash, Misty, and Brock to join the caravan. What wonders and terrors await them on their quest to gather pearls?

Best Real World Country to Pokemonize for a Poke-RPG Story (developing for an idea)

To celebrate the new series being officially named in English (Pokemon Horizons), I want to try a fantasy that fits something like early Final Fantasy or Dragon(ite) Quest, with a dash of Zelda--so of all the countries in the world that haven't been Pokemonized yet, which one would fit something like that?

I would have loved for a Central American region, with a Gym in each country + Chiapas (that Mexican state was originally part of CA).

I do have massive bias there, though!

EDIT: Or maybe my home country: Costa Rica! One gym/boss in each province + Isla del Coco.
