Current lynchContrainer

Flavour later

Contrainer was lynched. They were Kairi Yano, LupinRanger’s roleblocker
You are

Kairi Yano, LupinRed

When Kairi was a child, his parents died and he was raised primarily by his older brother Shori Yano. However when he was 18, he lost his brother to Zamigo Delma. Provided with a VS Changer by Kogure, butler to the descendant of the legendary thief Arsène Lupin, Kairi was promised that, by becoming one of the Lupinrangers and reclaiming the Lupin Collection, he would be able to grant his wish and bring back who he had lost. Becoming Lupin Red, Kairi joined Blue and Yellow, Tooma Yoimachi and Umika Hayami, with whom he made the promise to claim their wish.

Thanks to the Red Dial Fighter’s ability to fire virtual nets, you are the roleblock. Once per night, you may select a player and block their actions for that night.

You are a member of Kaitou Sentai LupinRanger and win when the Gangler have been defeated and at least one LupinRanger remains.

It is now Night 2. Phase ends at 0:00 on the 20th March AWST

He's a town roleblocker?? Well that explains the multiple claims of actions failing last night then I guess, if mafia also have a roleblocker.

Looks to me like CO and Zinn are our prime lynch candidates tomorrow. I think they are both scum, though I'm not ruling out Lone yet cause of that supposed goof.

Yeah, that was a goof. I absolutely 100% meant to say Lupin. No idea why I said Pat that time.
hmmmm....

Max1996 has been killed. He was Sakuya Hikawa. PatrenNigou, the tracker.

You are

Sakuya Hikawa. PatrenNigou

A member of the Global Special Police Organization Japan Branch, Sakuya Hikawa was assigned as part of a three-member tactical unit established to counter the Interdimensional Crime Group Gangler. On their night shift, the three officers were sent to shut down the illegal casino of Gangler Monster Ruretta Gerou, only to be beaten by the notorious phantom thieves, the Lupinrangers. On the following day, the Tactical Unit were alerted by accountant robot Jim Carter to a Gangler incursion at the Kurehama Pier, which coincided with their receiving of the VS Changers, devices provided to counter the Gangler, by Commander Hilltop. Confronting the Gangler whom they found engaged in a fight with the Lupinrangers, the three GSPO officers, intending to arrest all parties, used the VS Changers to transform into the Patrangers, with Sakuya becoming Patren Nigou.

Because of your background as a detective, you are the tracker. Once per game at night, you can select a player and you will follow them to see who they visit.

You are a member of Keisatsu Sentai PatRanger and win when the Gangler have been defeated and at least one PatRanger remains.
With the last PatRanger defeated, the PatRangers have lost the game.

But wait, it's not over.... Because the Ganglers can now control the vote, which means the LupinRangers have lost the game.

ZinnLav has lost the game. They were Umika Hayami, LupinYellow.
You are

Umika Hayami, LupinYellow

In elementary school, Umika was constantly bullied for her sense of style but always had the support of her best friend Shiho Ichinose right by her side. Umika and Shiho both later attended Kohokugaoka Girls High School, where Shiho submitted and won a manga contest that was published in the latest manga magazine. One night while they were walking home, they were attacked by Zamigo Delma, who froze Shiho (and several other nearby civilians) to death. Provided with a VS Changer by Kogure, butler to the descendant of the legendary thief Arsène Lupin, Umika was promised that, by becoming one of the Lupinrangers and reclaiming the Lupin Collection, she would be able to grant her wish and bring back who she had lost. Becoming Lupin Yellow, Umika joined Red and Blue, Kairi Yano and Tooma Yoimachi, with whom she made the promise to claim their wish.

Due to your mastery of disguise, you are the miller. You will appear to be an ally of the PatRangers in cop checks.

You are a member of Kaitou Sentai LupinRanger and win when the Gangler have been defeated and at least one LupinRanger remains.

Lone_Garurumon has lost the game. They were Noel Takao. Lupin X

You are

Noel Takao. Lupin X and Patren X

You are a mystery, but what we do know is that your treasure allows you to switch teams between both ranger teams.

You are the team switcher. During Night 0, Day 1 or Night 1, you may choose either the LupinRanger or the PatRanger. If you do not, you will die at the end of Night 1.

You have no wincon, and need to choose between LupinRanger or PatRanger before D2 (This can be done N0, D1 or N1). When you join their team, you will inherit their wincon and gain a power for their team.

You have transformed into Lupin X.

You have gained the ability Thief. During the night, you can target another player... If they receive a result from their own powers, you will also receive this result.

You are now a member of the Kaitou Sentai LupinRanger. You win if the Gangler are defeated and at least one LupinRanger remains (You now count towards this). You also gain the powers of defeated PatRangers if you are the first on their lynch bandwagon.

Crystal Onix has won the game. They were Dogranio Yaboon, of the Ganglers.
You are

Dogranio Yaboon

Dogranio Yaboon (ドグラニオ・ヤーブン Doguranio Yābun) is a crime lord who is the leader of Interdimensional Crime Group Gangler. He is 999 years old and held his title as the leader of the group for over 500 years. He is seeking his successor and is ready for his retirement.

Because you are the most powerful Gangler, you are the strongman. Once per game, you may choose to augment the nightkill, and cause it to bypass any and all protections on the target player

You are a member of the Interdimensional Crime Syndicate Gangler and win when you equal or outnumber the rangers.

jdthebud has won the game. They were Goche Ru Medou, of the Ganglers.

You are

Goche Ru Medou

Goche Ru Medou (ゴーシュ・ル・メドゥ Gōshu Ru Medu) is a greedy female doctor which is the member of Interdimensional Crime Group Gangler. She uses the powers of the Gros caliber syringe from the Lupin Collection to perform reconstructive surgery, reviving and enlarging the members of the Ganglers to giant size

Goche also has another treasure that lets her analyze a target. Once per night, you may choose to use this treasure to see what role your target player has.

You are a member of the Interdimensional Crime Syndicate Gangler and win when you equal or outnumber the rangers.

Congratulations to Crystal Onix and jdthebud.

I'll share my thoughts later, but for now, let me leave you with the usual questions:

I won't bother asking about flavour text since I never got around to writing it. Sorry :(

  1. What did you think of the unique concept of this game? And would you play a 2 town game later? Perhaps with a bit more expanded roles?
  2. What did you think of the balance?
  3. Any other thoughts or comments? (The more you provide, the better I can refine the concept)
  4. While I didn't write any flavour text, there was a theme of cops (Pat) vs robbers (Lupin). What did you think of this theme?

I liked how there were two town teams verses a mafia team, but the game would've ran the same if the town was one team as our Win Condition stated we merely had to live, at first it seemed we had to beat both teams, but all we needed to do was beat the Ganglers. Maybe it would work better for a larger game?
What did you think of the balance?
The balance seemed alright, but having a strongman in such a small game pretty much made the doctor useless even if they did survive
Any other thoughts or comments? (The more you provide, the better I can refine the concept)
Nothing I can really think of.

I didn't really notice, I did pick up things about Lupin being thieves, sorry.

Pretty fun game I'd say, and wasn't too long either which was fine by me, as I wasn't sure I could handle two games at once for much longer xP

Yeah, I realised that after the game had started.

The idea was originally that the town teams were supposed to oppose each other (That's why you were encouraged to kill off members of the other town team, so you could inherit their powers) but I think the wincon should have been so that your faction was the last one standing.

I realised when you got confused that it was a mistake, I tend to use a WinCon as proof I'm town. Which of course worked since jd seemed super confused, we just didn't decide to lynch him xP

Congrats to mafia

Watching this game I noticed a few moments where town could have improved to win.
First off
Unvote: ZinnLav
There goes my joke vote.

So you're claiming independent? Interesting, though I'm kind of surprised there is one with two town factions....
I'm not claiming independent. I am a member of the PatRangers and win as long as the Ganglers have been defeated, you should already know this if you read your win condition, I don't need to defeat the LupinRangers to win. (assuming town all shares the same WinCon)

VOTE: jdthebud
There was a slight slip up here from jd which Zinn caught on yet you guys didnt pursue this enough. Always making him a second option.

The other was in Lone's role pm
Well, isn't this a very convenient power with this setup.

I'll steal Crystal Onix's result tonight.

In my quick research, there are three PatRangers, three LupinRangers, and me, the 6th ranger for each team.
The three people having claimed to be PatRangers (one with definitive proof) are Zinn, Pod, and Ex. Assuming that all three are telling the truth, this means that CO's either a LupinRanger and has Cop powers I can steal now, a power he would be foolish not to use, or he's a Gangler, and doesn't have Cop results to steal.
A great move and smart play, but failed in execution which is debatable on how you look at it.
He got the result that his action failed, CO didnt do anything with his role. So you'd assume CO was busted but I think Lone instantly saw that as being blocked and not checking if it failed because it didnt copy anything. I did mention this possibly bad phrasing to AE but left it up to his judgement as the host.

Nice job Mafia, ya got us. Good effort Rangers.
  • What did you think of the unique concept of this game? And would you play a 2 town game later? Perhaps with a bit more expanded roles?
Pretty much what Zinn said, really. It's a cool concept, and being encouraged to off other townies is an interesting prospect. But in a small game like this there's not a lot of time or breathing room to willingly shave off Town numbers. So either a bigger game for more breathing room, or modifying the win-cons to last-team-standing would be decent improvements. I do believe I'd play another one though.
  • What did you think of the balance?
Personally not a fan of the vig in something this small. I feel like it has potential to get the game over too quickly if it shoots Town (which is looks like it did)
  • Any other thoughts or comments? (The more you provide, the better I can refine the concept)
Nothing I didn't really say in the first answer.

It came across well in the roles. With the Pats getting law enforcement-y roles and the Lupins getting thievery roles.

Well that went well! Thanks for being a great teammate @Crystal Onix!

Yeah I obviously slipped a bit on D1 with the wincon confusion, though it obviously helped that Zinn worded it strangely, and others picked up on it, which let me recover a bit.

I think I played pretty well even with that slight slipup, and CO did a good job as well.

Also, this:
Well, then maybe it's JD and CO.
I have no idea anymore.
FoS: honestly everyone right now
Have fun when I'm revealed to be Town and the game ends!

JD was a pretty good partner, as well! He caught some things I missed that helped me play my part better.
I was worried that being called to go out and handle some projects this past weekend would make me look scummy through inactivity, but it turned into something good when I got to read everyone's reactions to N1 before responding myself.

As far as the balance, I agree that had having a vig that killed another townie on N1 really helped us. LG's thief was an interesting role, I'd never seen that one before. After coming back home and reading everyone's reactions to what's happened on N1, I thought for sure LG was a tracker who'd been blocked by Contrainer, which was surprising as a role setup. I liked the idea of two towns and roles that can move from one town team to the other, that was a pretty interesting and cool mechanic (and not just because of how I used it). I suppose that could work well to balance out the vig kill had Lupins gotten the cop ability. It'd be fun to see this mechanic used again in the future.

It seems really cool, it opens quite a few possibilities. Totally would. Yep.

What did you think of the balance?
It seemed alright. I mean, it was kinda quick mainly cuz we goofed hard (well, I did at least) , but I think it has everything necessary to be balanced. On the other hand I also feel like something kinda forced a really high-risk/high-reward style of game upon the town tho, and that might've also sped up the game more than it should.

Any other thoughts or comments? (The more you provide, the better I can refine the concept)
As Zinn said, maybe test a larger scale game. Or a more rewarding incentive to throw the different Towns against each other.

While I didn't write any flavour text, there was a theme of cops (Pat) vs robbers (Lupin). What did you think of this theme?
Super Sentais are always nice, the LupinRangers' roles could've been a little more thematic imo tho.

sorry if it's a lil' vage and short, I'm on mobile again and it is kinda hard to type here

So @Lone_Garurumon what did you think it meant when your action failed? Did you consider that CO could have been scum with that?
