I know my own:
Your brain contains many drawers, in which memories are locked or stored inside. Each time you take notes, or make an observation, you put in "notes" in your drawer. You remember by "opening the drawer", and getting your "notes" out of it and reading it. You lose your memory when you try to open a drawer with a specific key, but you lost it.

Like the explanation? Doesn't sound that reasonable though..
