Make sure to catch the start of the Pokémon GO Halloween 2023 Part I event in-game tomorrow, October 19th, at 10:00am local time

Niantic's celebration of the spooky season continues with the start of Pokémon GO's Halloween 2023 Part I event tomorrow, October 19th, at 10:00am local time. This event will continue through until the beginning of Part II on October 26th, at 10:00am local time. The Grave Dog Pokémon Greavard and Houndstone will both make their Pokémon GO debuts as part of this event, along with Shiny Phantump.

The Pokémon GO app will receive a Halloween-themed makeover during this event, with PokéStops and Gyms being reskinned with holiday decorations, and a remix of the Lavender Town music playing nightly in-game.

Event Bonuses and Activities
The following bonuses will be active during the event period:

• Additional Candy for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, and Excellent Throws.
• Additional Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, and Excellent Throws.
• Trainers level 31 and above will receive additional Candy XL for hatching Eggs.
• 2× Candy for hatching Pokémon.

PokéStop Showcases for Shupper, Banette, and Greavard will be running throughout the event at different PokéStops.

New Stickers

Trainers will be able to receive a selection of new event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops and opening Gifts during this event. The stickers will also be available for purchase directly from the in-game shop.

New Avatar Items
Five new spooky avatar items will be added to the in-game shop starting from this event. These items, which are a permanent addition to the shop, are as follows:

• Yamask Mask
• Cofagrigus Costume
• Cofagrigus Head
• Phantump Head
• Greavard Wig

Timed and Field Research
Two separate free event-exclusive Timed Research will be available from October 19th, at 10:00am local time, through to the end of the end of the Pokémon GO Halloween 2023 Part II event on October 31st at 8:00pm local time. The first of these focused on catching Ghost-type Pokémon, awarding encounters with Greavard, Stardust, and other rewards. The second focuses on Spiritomb and its 108 spirits, awarding encounters with Ghost-type Pokémon and Spiritomb,

Paid event-exclusive Timed Research will be available for the Pokémon GO Halloween 2023 Part I as part of the Ticket of Treats which was announced towards the end of last month. When the Timed Research tasks for Ticket of Treats Part 3 are completed, Trainers will receive two Incubators as well as additional encounters with Phantump. The tasks for this Timed Research will continue past the end of the Pokémon GO Halloween 2023 Part I event to the end of the month, with all rewards needing to be claimed before October 31st, at 8:00pm local time. Trainers may also gift the Ticket of Treats to any friend with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.

As part of a collaboration with Amazon Prime Gaming, Amazon Prime members can also claim Halloween-themed Timed Research that grants the Greavard Wig item, along with other rewards including Stardust, and encounters with a variety of appropriately spooky Pokémon. This Timed Research is available now, and will remain open to be claimed until November 17th, at 9:59pm (PST). To receive the rwards from this Timed Research, Trainers must complete all research tasks prior to December 25th, at 8:00pm (PST).

Event-themed Field Research tasks will also be available, offering a selection of Pokémon encounters when completed (see below), along with rewards of items including Poké Balls.
