Hey all, welcome to the Pokémon Manga & Other Media Rules and Guidelines thread. To reduce some of the clutter and disorder, we moderators of the section are here to announce the new rules and guidelines for this section.

This post will contain the rules of this section, of which you will be warned or infracted for if broken.

The rules for the Pokémon Manga & Other Media section are as follows:

1. Image size limit (Incoherent/Unreadable Post)
Images (such as scans or promotional art, for example) that exceed 700 pixels in either dimension should be under a spoiler tag.

Here is a breakdown of some of the Forum Rules and how they would be applied in Pokémon Manga & Other Media:

1. Copyright Violation

Members may not request or provide help to illegally view copyrighted content or play ROMs. YouTube and similar links are allowed, except YouTube links to full pokémon episodes or movies (in part or whole). Mentioning fan translation in general is permitted, but not specific translation groups or projects. Finally, when putting someone else's fanworks in your forum or blog post, you should at least note that it is not yours and if possible credit the creator.
Posting direct links to full episodes, games or chapters, and presenting other people's fanwork as yours, is a severe violation, barring exceptional circumstances.
This means Posting images of, providing links or downloads of, and asking for scanlations. Members may post snippets and previews of manga volumes, but they may not request or provide help to view full content illegally.

Please see Common Infractions and How to Avoid Them by @Wolverine to see breakdowns of some of the more common infractions (Wrong/Banned Topic, Pointless Post, and Flaming & Baiting).

If you have any questions about the forum-specific rules or how whole-forum rules would be applied to Pokémon Manga & Other Media, please contact any Pokémon Manga & Other Media moderator.

This post will highlight the guidlines of the Manga/Other Media forum. We will not infract if these guidelines are broken, but we would still appreciate if they were followed nonetheless.

Pokémon Manga & Other Media Prefixes

You will now have the option of adding prefixes to threads of the more popular Pokemon Manga series'. This will help threads to be sorted more easily, and for members to find the threads of manga series more relevant to their interests faster.

List of Prefixes:
  • REBURST = Pocket Monsters Reburst
  • SPECIAL = Pocket Monsters Special a.k.a. Pokémon Adventures
  • DPA = Pokémon Diamond & Pearl Adventure
  • ADAPT = Manga adaptions of the anime movies and episodes
  • FANMADE = Webcomics, fan-made series (comic strips, doujinshi, etc.)
  • B&W = Pokémon Black and White
  • MERCH = Pokémon merchandise (toys, clothes, etc.)

Review/Preview threads for the release of manga volumes
Review threads for different manga volumes can be made by any member. When a new volume for a manga is released in either Japanese or English, its thread will be stickied for one month before it will be moved to the new Manga Review thread archive. This is where the new prefixes will come in handy as well. Preview threads will also be made for upcoming releases for different manga volumes, and will be closed once they are released.

What do you mean by 'Other Media?'
We simply mean any form of media other than the anime (which has its own forum) and the different manga series'. This includes but is not limited to figurines, plushies and other trinkets, children's books, stickers, related clothing items, etc. Feel free to post a thread regarding any of these in this section. Discussion of anything that is tied directly to the television series and movies - music CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays, etc. - should go in the Pokemon Anime forum. The exception of course, being, the manga adaptions of the movies.

If you have any questions about these guidelines, please feel free to contact any Pokémon Manga & Other Media moderator.
