Re: Masuda to "consider" Ruby and Sapphire remakes: Game Freak director acknowledges

I read it as: "It's going to happen, we already decided that. But if I said it out-right, there'd be trouble."

And it will be awesome.

Re: Masuda to "consider" Ruby and Sapphire remakes: Game Freak director acknowledges

And R/S had problems and still can't be played added to the fact that the DSphat/lite are deader then Disco and the relitive rarity of R/S games now. R/S need to be remade HG/SS were not needed but GF still remade them. so yeah Nostalgia and money mean everything

Thats great maybe someone can send him a tweet to clear up the issue? So is it safe to say R/S remakes are basicly confirmed?

It makes no sense to remake a game that's already transferrable to the Gen 4 games via Pal Park which of course can be transferred to Gen 5. As I said before, R/S doesn't take place in the same timeline as B/W like how FR/LG takes place in R/S's timeline and HG/SS taking place in D/P's timeline. A sequel to R/S is the most logical option to keep that traditional pattern. Also, Dawn~Berlitz made a reminder of how much Hoenn stunk because of how easy it was and Sinnoh/Johto will always be better.

Woah major bias dude They don't have to change the time line plus the DS is DEAD. so it makes no sense for them not to remake it and Johto was far easier your arguments atre terrible and insulting

But Masuda has no interests in making Pokemon games for the 3DS since he finds 2D sprites as art and the 3DS requires 3D graphics, so i don't know how he's going to develop that remake. Also, I did not fully agree with Dawn~Berlitz's statement about R/S, I just briefly mentioned it to see if I'm not the only one who believes he's wrong.

He has to though... Either R/S and Grey or Gen VI will be on the 3DS He can still do the 2D sprites... those haven't changed even when the games went to a 3D overworld either way. R/S are nearing 10 years old and people who started with games like Pt HG/SS or B/W might not have a DS or R/S

And how many people have RSE?

ORLY?
How is that possible? What, Brawly being mentioned in FRLG? And the Red Gyarados sighting in DP?

That's a fan opinion. I'd just say "irrelevent," but I'm not a dick like other people I know. And Hoenn didn't really suck, hell it was a tough little bugger at times.

Let's not forget Cynthia's cameo appearance in HG/SS.

He told me his trained Pokemon always go above the level of every gym leader he faced.

Very interesting. Very interesting.

However, doesn't this also confirm that Ruby & Sapphire remakes are not currently in development? After all, if GameFreak were currently working on them, wouldn't Masuda be keeping quiet (and thus, ignoring tweets about them, or denying the existence of them) until The Pokémon Company formally announced them?

You say that as if it was impossible for time to have passed between Platinum and HGSS. As for her age, she doesn't look mugh older in BW, despite being at least 40 by then.

Well, if you overtrain then it's bound to be easy. If you fight them with no extra training, they'll kick your ass.

Joshawott, not be offensive or anything, but you DO know what a surprise is right? A sneak attack? I've thought about it, and one of two things is correct, either they're making complete fools of us and they've finished them, or they've not even started. What do think? Break Nintendo tradition, or deny themselves millions?

But she looks more in her late 20s, and since BW takes place after those two timelines, she must be in her early 30s, which explains her unchanged appearance.

I figured she was 30 in DPPt...?

Ah well, still doesn't mean that Platinum and HGSS have to be in the same timeline.

Wasn't starting Pokemon Black/White without knowing anything about it fun? Think how much fun newbies would have with gen III REMAKES!!! R/S remakes and the controversial gray. I beleive they will most definetly be the last three Pokemon DS games if created, then they jump consoles, and make even more money!

Gen 1-4 poedex 3D?!?! Talk about that two! I want that, and I doubt i'm the only one!

Also... from pokemon emerald on, time is mostly the same, maybe one to two years after each other!

Now now, I never said Ruby/Sapphire remakes won't happen. All I'm saying this shows us, is that they are currently not in development, because if they were, Junichi Masuda would not be allowed to say anything about the matter. Also, I know what a surprise is - and if RS remakes were announced shortly after this statement that would ruin the surprise.

This also leads me to believe that RS remakes won't be in Generation V. Why? Because as soon as Diamond and Pearl were launched, work on Platinum, HeartGold/Soulsilver and Black/White began. It's quite reasonable to believe that GameFreak are working on the early stages of Generation VI right now; so a game that's not in development yet would most likely be saved to be released after all the current games in development are.

Enough of this "No R/S remakes in Gen V" thing of yours. They'd be able to remake the whole game in PLENTY of time for Gen V man! Besides, the fact we got this announcement at all means you need to live up to your end of our little deal we made months ago very soon.

I don't deny that Gen VI may very well be under development, but I don't believe that they are any farther in than Ruby Sapphire remakes. Remakes would be easier i believe because there's no need to write a whole new story, just use most of the old story line! R/S First!!!

Re: Masuda to "consider" Ruby and Sapphire remakes: Game Freak director acknowledges

To be honest, I don't support a remake of R/S. Red/Blue and Silver/Gold needed them due to the Gameboy/GBA split, but once R/S are remade, more than likely the remakes will be bound to continue, with no one knowing where it will stop.

The only reason I might support it though is the fact that neither the DSI, nor the 3DS have the GBA slot.
